Salehurst Halt - Menú

A lovely hidden gem of a garden and a perfect spot for sundowners. The food was good, but we were expecting something more locally sourced/reflective of the area. Lovely to try some different local wine. We’ll probably be back.

Parking a problem but the staff are excellent at advising where to go, had lunch and to be fair it was not that good, had a Greek dish and after removing the vast amount of coleslaw small pieces of chicken appeared, can’t understand the...Amount of good reviews.

cross them that the information is missing on their website, or best very unclear, this restaurant is closed on Sunday night. please update it! it was bad enough that I logged in to check and had no answer to my message, so had to start again to find the restaurant closed at noon. it's just not good enough!

I have booked a table for Sunday dinner as I have read good reviews about this place. it is located in a beautiful village and the restaurant offers a beautiful view. her Sunday menu is limited, there is not much to choose. my man and I shared a bruschetta to start with it. we both ordered the gay, it was nice and service is also great.

Four of us enjoyed a lunch in the sunshine here. Service superb and chef came out to speak with us personally as one of our party had allergies. Totally accommodating and created something special for us. Fabulous food really interesting and well put per head which at this level is exceptionally good value. Thank you! We booked a table at the Halt today for the time and once again we were not disappointed. We sat outside in the garden and both ordered the Slovaki chicken flat bread with tzatziki, pickled red onions and malfouf salad. The food was delicious,...clean fresh flavours and a more than generous portion size. The service was, as usual, friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours in the peaceful atmosphere of the garden. We could not fault the food or the service in any way and look forward to a return visit very soon. Thank you !

two older friends with us when they celebrated their birthday. the choices were very limited, even the fish and chips were goujons, so good old fish and chips excluded. three of us had burger, very average and one had jambalaya. That...was not so expected and lacked from huh, in which did more skin than huh, very disappointing. desserts annoyed not better, cream brûlée was in order, but the mars bar brownie was in the round a square of chocolate sponge from a tablet bag, very dry. we were asked only after our meal if it was okay and decided not to comment on the time as it would have spoiled for our friends. on the plus side the staff was very pleasant. outside the pubs, it could be up with...

This pub serves excellent ale, local wines and quality pub food. Service is efficient and friendly. They must get virtually no passing trade, so being in a small village they must rely on their reputation. The pub has few frills, but we loved the rear...terrace strewn with grapes and with a great view over the valley to a hop farm. For the benefit of smokers and non-smokers alike, there was a lower terrace for tobacco users. We were advised on the website to book a table and did so by email full marks for the quick response. There was no menu on the website as it changes so often, but I trusted them and it paid off. The menu and wine list are written on blackboards. Cleverly, they take snaps...

One of the nicest pubs I have been to. We are two families, with a kid each year old boys) and we walked from Bodiam, where we are camping, to Salehurst, having been told the Halt was a good pub to visit. It certainly...is. Lovely, welcoming and attentive and chatty staff, a lovely beer garden, very nice local ales, a good selection of lager and very nice food. The kids played table tennis most of the time and then when they eat their plaice and chips, not a thing was left on their plated. The pub does not have a specific kids menu, but will make a kids version of every menu choice there is.
