Salthouse Dun Cow - Carta

This is a lovely foodie pub. Very relaxed with great food (I particularly like the fish stew). We first discovered it as a family when we stayed for a few days in Salthouse in early January and I have already been back twice since then. Its not the cheapest but it is really good food and therefore value for money.

I’ve never had a bad or even mediocre meal here. I thought I would leave a review this time as I just had the most amazing monk fish stew. It was full of fresh veggies along with mussels. If only all pubs could do a healthy dish like this with no carbs I’d be so happy. Very good staff and a very pleasant atmosphere.

A brilliant restaurant- never had a bad meal here. A range of meals and drinks on offer, beautiful views. The food is excellent, full of flavour and care taken. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The garden in Summer is a beautiful spot, it does get busy because it’s well known for its excellent food and service. Ver carta

Excellent as always. Friendly service , great scenery and fantastic food. Booked ahead to get a spot for lunch as often busy. Dog friendly too, lovely relaxed setting. Choice of quite varied menu from great fish and chips and burger to specials with seafood such as scallops or crab, sardines etc. book in you won’t be disappointed.

Have eaten here previously and trally enjoyed it Menu has changed and choices were dire Not one single vegitarian option on the menu I am not a vegetarian but I do not eat fish Wife is allergic to shell fish Every option on neny was fish or shell fish This might suit some people The George in Cley was far busier, better prices and more varied choices on the menu

We just love this place always great food, friendly staff and excellent service. Our greyhound loves it too. And we always get a welcome whether popping in for a drink or having a meal. So many other places are infinitely variable in food and service but this place always delivers. Fabulous in the sunshine but even more special on cold winter days after a walk. I would definitely return to this restaurant for a leisurely lunch. The service was excellent, and the menu was intriguing. The steak with caramelized onions on ciabatta was flavorful and tender. The crab was fresh and served generously with a tangy salad and crispy potatoes. We also shared a delectable sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Overall, it was a great value for the quality of food we received.

We had been to the Dun Cow once before a few years ago, and decided to go back as we were that end of the coast road. Lunch was superb, what a treat! The photos don’t do the food justice. We had lemon meringue tart for afters and they were decent portions, as a dessert lover there is nothing worse than getting a wedge of tart about an inch wide. Good service, relaxed, attentive but not intrusive. Would happily go again!

Paid 24 pounds for a beef roast Which to be fair was about right For a roast But found one carrot and no green veg was poor admittedly, there were root vegetables. But needed to top up with peas and Broccoli just to top the plate up which was a fiver extra So 29 pounds I found to be Not value for money, told the member of staff when paying. Only to be told yes, we are aware of this, but the owner and Chef Not interested. Ver carta
