"Service schleppend, aber freundlich, allerdings ist eine Nachbestellung schwierig. Pizza nichts besonderes. Warum der Gast zum zahlen zum Chef muss, verstehe ich nicht. Gasthaus war quasi leer, Gartenwirtschaft 4 Tische belegt."

"Eher gut als sehr gut ... Die Bewertung befriedigend wäre z. B. aufgrund der Qualität ungerecht. Ein sehr gut wäre möglich, aber ... Gut – aber mehr Kreativität wünschenswert! Gute Produkte, gute Küche, anspruchsvolle Preise … seit einigen Jahren. Allerdings fehlt die Kreativität, so wird seit einiger Zeit als Gruß aus der Küche ein Schälchen Oliven (seit langer Zeit) in Kräutersud eingelegt (Fertigprodukt) mit Brot präsentiert. Für ein Restaurant mit dem empfundenen Anspruch und in dieser Preiskategorie nicht sehr kreativ und nicht passend. Ein Gruß aus der Küche in eigener Herstellung könnte evtl. viel bewirken für das Gesamtbild. Die saisonal wechselnden Karten wiederholt sich im Kern mit kleineren Variationen. Auch hier könnte mehr Kreativität den Gast zusätzlich begeistern. Wiener Schnitzel als Standard dauerhaft auf der Karte, wäre z. B. mal mit einem Kartoffelsalat als Alternative zu Bratkartoffeln oder Pommes frites eine Abwechslung, oder auch mit einem Beilagensalat! Auch sollten die obligatorischen Sardellen zur Wahrung der Zubereitungstradition nicht fehlen. Oder statt des Zwiebelrostbratens ein Rump- oder Filetsteak mit einer Sauce …. Die Portionen sind sehr (zu) groß bemessen und wären etwas geringer dimensioniert vielleicht kostengünstiger anzubieten und/oder für ein selbst zusammengestelltes Menü eher geeignet. Die präsentierte Weinauswahl ist an Vielfalt und Preisen gut. Das Preisniveau für die Speisen ist anspruchsvoll. Die Servicemitarbeiter sind sehr locker und freundlich …"

"Travelling back from holiday we stopped overnight at a local hotel. Not being too excited with their menu we ventured out and stumbled across Ouzeria. The majority of the tables had been pre-booked but we were offered a choice of those remaining and had a...nice window seat. Menu's only in German but the waiter translated as best he could in his broken English. We settled for the house specials which were the Greek version of kebab. The plates came on which were an assortment of meats all beautifully cooked and seasoned, a helping of tzatziki and some pitta bread. It was very good, and the price was very reasonable as well. Shame i do not think i will be in the area again but cannot recommend highly enough."

"we had a night stay in kirchzarten and that was about the next meal of our hotel. it was a warm evening and so we wanted to sit outside, we were met by a very charming gent, who immediately spoke impeccable English and showed us our table. the available menu was in English. then a young guy took over us, who was again very pleasant and helpful. he helped to choose dinner and accompanied wine (which was super a local white wine). eating was very good, as well as we had with the service, this made a great evening. during the meal the sky opened together with thunder and flash, so we pulled inside, it was only that we realized that the restaurant was practically full in the interior (that was a Tuesday night). this is a really good restaurant built on good food and great customer service."

"Sadly I wasn't able to eat here but this is a friendly, authentic gastaette a couple of miles off the tourist track. Definitely a neighborhood place - no English menus or anything like that here, but a good example of a neighborhood bar and restaurant that the locals clearly enjoy. I will definitely come back here for food sometime: as well as all the usual German fare there are Afghan dishes (I think the chef is from Afghanistan.) The blackboard advertised cheap weekday lunches but on this weekend afternoon drinks outside were enough for me. Staff don't speak English but a few words of German and a lot of pointing go a long way. Definitely recommended after a walk in the hills above Freiburg!"
