Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly team, and superb food. Difficult to choose so we shared each course. Can’t wait to come back again. Already planning next visit.

first time the pandemic free and pleased to find that the kitchen was as good as if not better than- before. service was relaxed, but efficient at midday. a really good lunch in a relaxing, upscale pub environment.

I have reserved for our jubilee. it was such a tasty bite. we ordered almost everything in the menu, as everything looked so good. each dish was delicious and had so many additional details to make it unique. we will go back! x

First time I have visited this restaurant and so pleased we went. Food was delicious. Beautifully balanced dishes with something to cater to everyone’s taste. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. We had a table for 8 and everyone was impressed. We shall definitely be returning

Lunch for my husband's birthday first visit in years. Portion size just right and venison probably the best that eaten out. Beef cheek was luscious and both starters v tasty. Only minor criticism was that the desserts were a little sweet, but ice cream his coffee was v good. Definitely somewhere to go back to.

Disappointed in two ways. The white wine was at room temperature. The manager argued stating the wine had come straight out of the fridge and it was working fine and was at 1degree! (sic). Why would you keep wine at 1 degree? Anyway she returned with something that was marginally cooler and clearly felt the problem had been dealt with- we did not. The Bream was overcooked

Ambiance not very welcoming and service poor. If the owners bother to read this this was NOT the fault of the waiter and waitress on duty it was very clear that they had had insufficient trading and support from owner/ manager. Too many corners cut. Too little attention to detail. Too many examples to mention here in a brief review. I really wanted to like the Anchor and the food was OK. But as an evening out, we left disappointed. Sorry, but just being honest.

the food was in order, but we needed 2 desserts each before we fell satisfied. the most disappointing was the service slow off, although we were the only people there first, after which we were asked to clean the table as the next session “has been on some time”. we couldn't love this because we had only eaten it as soon as it had served us. we left the feeling unwilling, annoying and a little embarrassing that we spent a lot of money next time we want to mark a special occasion, we go somewhere else. we have
