"5 stars, the triumphant return of Chef Adrian Munt! We returned to The Bells this week with family, and we’re delighted with our experience. After a few months of The Bells not being up to its usual standard, our meal and experience on Thursday evening was brilliant. We shared the breads over drinks and then had the home made pies (both steak and ale, and cheese and onion) for mains, and they were absolutely stunning. It’s wonderful to have The Bells back on form! Long may it continue!"

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch with our family. This is a pub we have visited many times over the last 25 years and have never been disappointed. The staff were very helpful and the food was just what we wanted, not just a carvery but much more. Ver carta

Came in a big group of friends and opted for the trio of meat. Head chef has nailed it. The absolute without doubt best plate of food i’ve ever eaten. Head chef is called adie and came and chatted with us too. Cant describe the level of deservedness for recognition of food excellence. Desserts were also top tier Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

it was our first trip to Bells of Peover but it certainly won't be our last. I had the roast beef Sunday dinner and my husband had the trio roast dinner. the food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Loved the addition of the cauliflower cheese and our own gravy pot !! Everyone was really friendly and the sticky toffee pudding was yummy too. We will definitely be coming back. Ver carta

I planned a surprise birthday lunch for my husbands 40th birthday at The Bells of Poever. Phil was an incredible help from start to finish with all elements of planning-from the food to the wine and even a last minute move to outside to enjoy the party. Everyone commented on the excellent food and service. We want to thank Phil and all the team for such an incredible day. We cant wait to plan our next visit.

A school friend moved to near the Bells after University 40 years ago. He loved it and mentioned it to me. 40 years on I finally got to visit as I live well over one hour from it. What a fab old pub, great bar, great building, ancient wisteria and a very old church and grave yard thrown in. The lunchtime food was great and the service provided by our youngish male server was superb. He is an absolute credit to the pub. Hopefully it will not be another 40 years before my next visit.

"I’ve never been before, we came yesterday for family dinner looking forward to a roast lunch dinner. The menu only had a choice of lamb or beef, not liking beef the choice for me was lamb. Within minutes a lady came to advise the lamb “had just sold out” I said I didn’t like beef but no other option was given and I therefore had to have the beef. The meal arrived the Yorkshire’s were not risen and burned. The vegetables were very nice the beef was shaped like a block mine was dry and over cooked. My husband had poured gravy all over his so he couldn’t tell but I don’t like a lot of gravy on my food and I could tell I gave my beef to him. We ordered a burger/cheese/bacon meal for our 12 year old, I made it really clear to the young girl to plead only out cheese/bacon/burger on and no healthy stuff no onions nothing she laughed and said she has a brother who is the same so understands we ordered the adult version as it said the children’s was for 10 years and under. My sons burger arrived with a load of crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes everything we had asked NOT to be added, I took the food off but he wouldn’t touch it having seen the salad was on it! After eating my main it was a massive disappointment to see the man behind us being served a roast lamb dinner when I was told it had all sold out!!!! I had ordered fruit crumble this was a massive portion in a bowl the crumble topping was nice but the fruit underneath tasted like melted jam rather than just gently cooked fresh fruit there was more fruit sauce than fruit making it quite sloppy I had a couple of mouthfuls and left it."
