"Avoid ... We pre booked well in advance for a special birthday lunch. My Mum is elderly and quite frail. When we arrived the restaurant was empty. We were seated right next to the main doorway where there was a real breeze, uncomfortable chairs and it was cold and drafty. I was particularly concerned for my Mum. We politely asked if they could re-seat us and received a brisk reply Sorry NO There were numerous empty and more comfortable and suitable tables around us (in fact we wete the only ones there) and there was absolutely no thought or consideration for my Mum. We waited 50 minutes for our food. The waiters were constantly gossiping at the bar and paid no attention. They served the food and couldn 't even confirm if my mother 's meat was beef when she asked as it looked very pale! . After our main course we waited a long time before service again. We then ordered ice cream and a pot of tea. We waited again a very long time for icecream and they were not busy. They forgot the tea all together and then unbelievably brought a cup with a tea bag floating in it- at the same time as the bill! The owner paid no interest to our complaints and seemed to be more interested in chatting to locals at the bar. We were so disappointed as we had pre-booked and it was a special occasion. Never going back."

We come here quite regularly, and it is definitely worth the 30 minute drive. Attentive, friendly staff and always great food.

This local pub/restaurant offers a nice variety of delicious food. The specials menu was impressive and the atmosphere was pleasant and quiet. I look forward to returning soon.

Went to Bush yesterday for the first time in a while for Sunday lunch and found just as good as ever. Great welcome from management and staff, great atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely food. What more can I say other than we will be back

They tried to charge me over £14 for a pint of HPA beer and bottle of Heineken 0% lager topped up with lemonade. When I challenged the price is was amended to £11.50. Having been a frequent visitor of the bush I won't be going back at those prices. Ver carta

I had a great experience at this cozy rural pub with a nice vibe and tasty food. The chicken pie was exceptionally delicious and I highly recommend trying it. However, the blue cheese pizza was just average. While the first slice was good, the crust became soggy and lost its texture under the weight of the toppings by the second slice.

We visited a very cozy and charming country pub for lunch on New Year's Day. It was quite busy, but the service was lovely. However, we did have to wait over an hour for our food to arrive. The chicken pie was delicious, although it didn't have any gammon or leek as described. Nonetheless, it was still very good. The pub is dog-friendly at certain tables and had a nice atmosphere. Despite the wait, we will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Beautiful rustic thatched pub with lovely atmosphere and great food. This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised after my daughter booked a table last minute. Menu was extensive but we all had great meals, from vegan dishes to my lamb 3 ways, which I have say exceeded all expectations. Beer range not massive but ok. I would imagine in the summer it would be equally beautiful with good outside area and quaint hamlet. Definitely worth the visit Ver carta

Had amazing food and wine , shared with family from all over great reunion , normally I would have put on photos but was to good to stop eating and I’d had a few good wines by then I loved the houmous, and it was like a fried soda bread to dip yummy … the pudding was the favourite of mine coffee ice cream with espresso over the top was to die for ! , many had steak and it was like melted butter to eat so tender the chips were fabulous also a highlight for me also was the carrot and the broccoli never tasted a vegetable so good thank you to the staff who treated us so attentively made our visit even more special would highly recommend and I can’t wait to revisit !

A really quaint country pub in the Vale of Glamorgan. Service was friendly although I did feel they wanted us to leave the restaurant at about 21.00 as they were cleaning tables around us. Notwithstanding that, the food was generally good, although the focaccia bread we had as a starter was tasteless and greasy. Of the main courses, the two pies chicken and steak were very nice, the steak we had was slightly underdone and closer to rare than medium rare. The taste of the pizza we had was slightly overwhelmed by tomato flavouring. The two desserts eton mess and apple and fruit crumble with custard were very nice. Overall a very enjoyable experience but with some shortcomings.

"I raved about this place in my last review but since then it appears to have changed. Firstly, I cant remember the chairs being so uncomfortable that they had 'scatter ' cushions for you to use if you needed to. Having had back surgery, they made it even worse for me, so did without them in the most uncomfortable chair ever. Now, to the main part of the review. The lovely cakes that I had raved about had disappeared to be replaced by a sorry looking load of bog standard cake. The poor girl who served us was nervous as it was her first day, we ordered pecan pie which came with cream, we asked if its pouring or thick, she had to ask, it was pouring so we asked if we could have ice cream instead, she had to ask. Anyway, we finally ordered our cake and coffee. When she brought the coffee, she spilled half of mine in the saucer and then asked if I wanted a different saucer....duh! she took the offending saucer and the spoon brought a saucer back, no extra serviette to wipe the bottom of the cup and NO SPOON! We were then served the cake and ice cream, which to be fair, was nice, until, halfway through I saw a hair on my friends plate, (she was not wearing her glasses). We knew instantly that it was not either of ours, I have shoulder length hair and her hair was in a bun! We called the poor young lady over and pointed it out, she asked if my friend wanted to change it...duh! Of course she did, she brought another and thankfully my friend shared it with me! The coffee was (flat white) was nice but after that catalogue of events I wont be going back. They do offer a range of snacks/lunches and people did seem to be enjoying them."
