Lovely Sunday lunch, well cooked. Reassured us that the kitchen was nut free, but needed prompting to check if this meant that all supplied ingredients were not may contain . Some supplied ingredients eg ice cream may contain nuts, so promotion of nut free kitchen is not correct Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I have been a semi regular here for roast dinner and think the place is great, you can get a pint of coke zero and a lovely roast dinner. The reason I posted this review is that I noticed a small basket in the disabled toilet with sanitary products for the ladies, and I am super appreciative of them being thoughtful and kind to the customers. Popped in for a light lunch on my 60th. A painful experience. Over 30mins wait for 2 x cold fish finger sandwiches £13.95 each to eventually arrive after chasing up the whereabouts of our order which had clearly been forgotten about. Waitress asked if we wanted sauces to which we replied yes please but she never returned. Finally our patience ran out. Returned cold food for a refund which was also a saga as they even had to do that twice as they made a mistake and only refunded one initially. Very disappointing...

The food here is exceptionally good; high standards are always met. The place has a good atmosphere and is well attended. The only problem today was that the service was poor; NOT that this was the fault of the person providing such service. She had been working since 9am and was not expecting to get home until after 11pm. She was working alone and was covering both the duties of a waitresss and working behind the bar. She said she was alone because her manager had had a major problem. Fine, but why was another member of staff not drafted in? This was a management issue, not an employee issue. She was dilgent and was superb under the circumstances.

We popped in for a drink today. We ordered a large wine and a rockstar martini. The bill came to £28. We paid and proceeded to sit down at a table. We looked through the menu as we were considering lunch and saw that the average price of a glass of wine was £8.50. It therefore seemed ridiculous that we had been charged £28 for 2 drinks. I approached the person who served us to query the situation. She informed me that she had charged us for 2x small glasses as we had asked for a large. This could have been acceptable if she had informed us of this instead of making up a charge of her own. I asked her if I could speak to a manger and she informed me that she was the manager.
