"We haven't been our last experience for years was disappointing. Not this time. Excellent waitress. Friendly, but professional. Good tables (unless you are regrettable enough to come at a busy evening when sitting at a table for 2 or more realistic, a table for 1). But the star of the show is the steak. Unfortunately, it was so good that I couldn't photograph it that everything was gone before I remembered I wanted to make a review. No Gristle. Perfect season. Delicious rosemary and fresh as a Daisy salad on the side. My husband had the chicken and he was blown away from his meal that came with his favorite seed potatoes. We'll be back. I hope the same cook is back up."

"I just want one of the staff at the lakeside café for honest and trustworthy for finding my phone in the parking lot metre after having made a good deed to a young lady giving her my last pound coins and changing as the machine did not accept their 2 pounds coins. When I was looking for change, I put my phone on the meter machine. Then Ferry Wiesen left my phone behind not knowing that I had left it and drove buffet until 2020 at Peterborough, when we arrived I realized that I had dint my phone and had to return to Ferry Meadows. The café was closed, but found the staff room and asked if someone had delivered my phone? You said, there was an employee and there was. In this day and age there are still decent really honest people out there, so thank you at the lakeside café your staff is true, what makes a great place worthwhile revisiting."

"The Yard Castor is an outdoor restaurant that is connected to the main pub The Chubby Castor. They provide outdoor seating during the summer and a small indoor seating area in case of unfavorable weather. From the moment you are greeted by the staff, you are treated to a five-star dining experience and the staff were exceptional. The Yard places a strong emphasis on sustainability. They take great interest in the origin, sourcing, and ethical considerations of the ingredients they utilize with a guiding principle that food is health. They exclusively use seasonal fruits, vegetables, and meats. You can see a wide variety of fresh produce growing in their garden, which makes up about 70% of their produce. The remaining 30% comes from reliable and environmentally responsible partners. We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch when it was not too crowded, and I must say, it was one of the finest roasts I have had in quite some time. Accompanied by two companions, I started with the individually priced Rock Oysters, which were served fresh on a bed of ice. One of my companions opted for the BBQ Pork Belly, which was so delectable that we decided to order another serving. It was cooked to perfection and elegantly presented on a small plate, garnished with sesame seeds. The main event was the Roast Sirloin, roast potatoes, carrots, greens, Yorkshire pudding with a side of Truffle Cauliflower Cheese. My roast was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Although there was a slight delay in receiving our food, it was understandable as the Head Chef was personally overseeing the preparation of each dish. The attention to detail and care that went into crafting our meal was evident in every delectable bite. For dessert, I went for Rhubarb Frangipane Tart which was delightful. It achieved a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the texture was moist and satisfying. My companion opted for the Chocolate Mousse, which featured several unexpected ingredients such as honeycomb, popping candy garnish, thyme and a balsamic glaze. The combination of these elements resulted in a delightful symphony of flavors that complemented each other exceptionally well. The culinary offerings at this esteemed establishment, nestled amidst the picturesque countryside in a charming village, are simply beyond words. For those seeking an exceptional fine dining experience, this restaurant stands as a beacon of excellence, showcasing locally sourced produce transformed into exquisite dishes with meticulous attention to every detail. The staff, highly trained and exceptionally courteous, go above and beyond to ensure an unparalleled dining experience. Without a doubt, this establishment has set a new standard for Sunday Roast, surpassing all previous encounters I have had. It will be a formidable challenge to find another establishment that can match the extraordinary level of The Yard."

"My friend ordered the Sirloin Steak, which came with potatoes, peas, tomatoes, and an onion ring. Again, the steak was served hot and cooked with care. All main dishes come with free unlimited salad from a well-stocked salad bar. Due to COVID restrictions, staff kindly request that you get your salad from the bar yourself. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is inviting. The staff is highly trained, providing excellent customer service, and are attentive and proud of the cleanliness and appearance of the public areas. Conveniently located next to the East of England Showground Stadium and a hotel, there is a spacious parking lot available. Peterborough has many restaurants, some good and some not so great, but Jade and her team make Harvester Alwalton an extraordinary experience for families and friends—it's a firm favorite for many!"

"Stopped for lunch while passing on the way to the seaside. Service was good. Food was very fresh, well presented, generous portions and delicious. Bought a meal for my toddler, sandwich arrived with no crusts, chips and salad with baby tomatoes (vs large tomatoes on the adult meals). It was lovely."
