"We dined at the restaurant as it was rated one of the ‘Pick of the Pubs’ in our AA ‘The Pub Guide’ and as always seems to be the case deservedly so, it was quiet as it was a Wednesday evening but there were still enough diners to create a nice atmosphere, the food and service was excellent, very good and varied menu and good value given the quality, my wife and I couldn’t fault a single part of our meals they even had a dessert that combined Crème Brûlée and Stollen two of my wife’s favourites which was a real bonus. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we’re in the area again."

"Nice pub. Full of locals all chatting. Staff are friendly and attentive. The pub itself has a carpark out the front and a big outdoor seating area (front and back). Out the back are some chickens and you can buy their eggs at 6 for £1. The food is nice and reasonably priced. Worth a visit for some decent food and atmosphere."

"Emma stands out as the standout employee at this cafe. It's rare to receive such friendly service from servers nowadays, and she was delightful. The service at the counter was also efficient and fast. Our toasties were visually appealing, served with a side salad, pretty coleslaw, and crisps. Our only complaint was that they were slightly soggy due to being under-toasted. However, we still enjoyed our visit to the well-decorated and lively cafe. Service: Dine in."

"After a visit to a family celebration of 7 including 2 vegans and a vegetarian to raglan castle (it is worth visiting) it was brilliant to find a pub in the small rural village that could serve not only vegetarian, but vegan. ok there was only a vegan main course on the menu, but it was excellent. that is the only reason why I didn't give the ship the full five stars. the atmosphere was very relaxed and the people were very friendly. we were allowed to bring a dog in and a 6-year-old grandson was welcomed. nothing was too much annoyed and there was no hurry, we were there a few hours and could have stayed longer."

"A lovely little local pub that feels like you are out in the sticks, but actually very accessible from Caerleon, Usk and the A40. Less than 10 minutes drive from Raglan Castle. Very welcoming Landlord and bar staff. I called in on the off chance for a little bit of food as I was alone on a road trip and despite being short on a member of kitchen staff, they still fitted me in for food. No exaggeration!, as a vegetarian, I struggle to find a pub or even a restaurant that actually wants to serve up good food for the veggie and only put their all in to the meat dishes however this pub food was the best food I have had! Their chips were stunning and I had the Mushroom Stroganoff (which wasn 't on the menu but I was offered that as an alternative to the beef version) and it was absolutely gorgeous, freshly home made and not reheated stodge! Huge decent serving with loads of veggies, rice and chips! All at a very, very decent price!!! I would highly recommend this surprising little gem of a place! I certainly will be back with my husband for that gorgeous food. DRINKS Again, very clean and tasty beer and ales on draught also at a very affordable price! Thanks to The Hall Inn for their great hospitality."
