big day experience today 12th oct. pub grub instead of eating fine at this opportunity, but very good. fish crispy chips and draughts and decent slices of brot and butter! friendly and patient service of the young man behind the bar. an oasis on...a Tuesday, when there seemed nowhere else to eat! thank you. such a hidden gem! Not very often we are blown away with food, service and presentation, especially when we were fed with our children. many thoughts and effort went into the food and service and we were made to feel very welcome. one of the most beautiful meals we had for a spoon time! compliments at the cook

We adore this restaurant and visit whenever we can, whether it's to catch up with friends, celebrate family birthdays, or have a Christmas get-together. The menu changes with the seasons and many of the dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and overall it's a delightful hidden gem.

I had never been to this restaurant before, but decided to stop in today on a whim. I'm glad we did because our meals were delicious. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable. The only thing that seemed odd was that if you ordered a burger, you had to pay extra for chips on the side. Despite that, we will definitely return and would recommend this place to others. As vegetarians, we often struggle to find restaurants that cater to our dietary needs, especially on a Sunday. However, The Lion restaurant exceeded all expectations with their fresh and delicious vegetarian options. From the nut roast to the perfectly cooked vegetables, every dish was a delight. Even our meat-eating friend was impressed by the lamb. The chef is a true gem, the staff are exceptional, and the atmosphere is chilled with great music. The value for money is outstanding. Thanks to Mark and the team for a high-quality dining experience right on our doorstep. The Lion is truly a must-visit!

that must be the most friendly pub/hotel I've ever stayed in! I came last minute in the evening trip solo, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much annoyed. after a long trip it was a real pleasure to use the health suite consisting of a massage chair, sauna, steam bath and heated chairs. my room was cozy and clean with a very cozy bed and a great shower. the pub was very sympathetic and the natives made me feel so welcome that I had a totally unexpected great evening listening to a local singer. the breakfast was fantastic. I will definitely come back to stay in the lion hotel and highly recommend it.

I know I'm fighting over the lion, maybe a little too much, but I just have to get my latest experience. we came by Saturday. I was not particularly hungry – I actually thought about one of the £5 snacks. how to have loaded thin chips – but something “new” on the menu caught my eye. So I tried the blue cheese and asparagus pie. Oh, my God. that was undoubtedly one of the best veggie meal I've ever had! They know that feeling when they are fit to burst, but eating is so delicious, they just can't stop eating it? this slightly melted fabric had the perfect balance of ingredients, the cheese and asparagus complement each other as the nature intended.
