"We came with seven people to celebrate a 96th birthday party, and the overall experience was fantastic. The restaurant was full, but the staff made us feel special, and the service was attentive, professional, and very friendly. Despite the busy summer season, everything ran smoothly and professionally. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the duck salad was delightful. The fish and chips were the best in the Purbeck area, and the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience just as we had anticipated."

Amazing sea food and especially the grilled mackerel. Lovely welcome and service. Seems to to be run by locals with very warm atmosphere.

This restaurant is an amazing discovery! The food was exceptional, especially the perfectly prepared Lobster Thermidor. The service was excellent, with incredibly friendly staff who were always willing to help. The bar area is also dog friendly, which our furry friend thoroughly enjoyed with all the attention and biscuits they received. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

This pub used to be vibrant, busy and very well kept. Now it is tired, with an unkept shabby garden, together with an increasing array of mobile home units (for rent or staff). The dirty Lobster tank in the main bar was completely out of place in an old country Inn. We all had the Sunday Carvery but potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshires were obviously all cooked from frozen and the food was tepid. Avoid. Ver carta

This pub is in a little hamlet very near Corfe Castle and is an absolute must to visit if you are looking for a dining experience. The choice is varied with traditional pub grub and lovely fish choices all at a sensible price. It is olde worldly inside and has a lovely garden with great views. The staff are really helpful and fun. We had dinner one evening and were so impressed, we went back the next day for Sunday lunch which was an excellent carvery.

I made a reservation for my entire family, including three children, as we visit this restaurant every summer for its wide variety of fresh fish options. However, we were disappointed to discover that the fish choices have been limited to just fried fish and chips, and at a higher price. The overall menu selection was also quite limited. The previous owner has passed away, and it is clear that the restaurant is not being run with the same high standards as before. We will be looking for another local restaurant for our next family outing.

"We had the best time here on Saturday lunch. We arrived early to a quiet restaurant and were greeted by super friendly and well informed staff, who made us feel at ease and explained their new ‘small plates’ menu. Our kids were given a nice menu with colouring in and nothing seemed too much to ask for. We decided to let our 4 and 6 year old order from their kids menu and hoped they would try some of our dishes too. The menu really is very appealing, so much so that the 3 adults ended up ordering EVERY dish they had on the menu in the end! I think it was 16 various dishes of meats, fish, veggies and pasta’s. All homemade and with a really modern vibe. Our waitress was soo good at making us feel at ease we had the best time. A few dishes were ordered and came out really fast we were overjoyed at how beautiful they looked, and the flavours we so well balanced and punchy we got really giddy and decided to order all of the other dishes and just share them all out. Have to say each dish was a triumph, my favourite was the pork ‘burnt ends’ with sweet and sour carrots and a mustard sauce, my partners was the pointed cabbage dish with sesame, my mothers the beetroot and goats cheese crispy ball. They all were delicious, and our kids tried loads of new things like a crab pasta and a cheesey focaccia. It seems like they really thought these little dishes out soo well, temperatures, textures, colours, flavours, elegance we’ve not had anything like this outside of London. So, 16 plates in, plus the kids had their main course… we were all full up, felt like we’d been on a culinary adventure. And then we were offered something sweet okay maybe we were just being greedy, maybe we just couldn’t resist not trying more?! The kids had a ‘build your own dessert’ of ice cream and sauces and sprinkles and cake bits looked great but sadly only for kids! We had their ‘sweet things’, kind of like large petit fours. Chocolatey cake balls, salted caramel truffles and tart passion fruit jellies all were amazing! By the time we left, the restaurant was really busy and I can see why we will most certainly be coming again! Thank you!"
