"Visited Tintagel Castle yesterday and we are not from the area so didn’t know most kitchens closed mid afternoon. To set the scene the rain had just started to pour and it was incredibly windy, so we were cold, wet and hungry! After getting the cold shoulder at King Arthur’s Cafe, my husband and I headed to Ye Olde Malthouse Inn to look for a light bite. The landlady was so welcoming and pleasant. She kindly told us that the kitchen was closed but that we were more than welcome to get some food from elsewhere and come back to stay warm and dry. Really restored our faith in kind and decent human beings. Thank you, a little bit of kindness goes a long way and if we visit Tintagel or nearby again, we would happily book a room at the Inn."

The restaurant features a beautiful and friendly staff who are very helpful. They offer a great selection of food and drinks. The lunch sandwiches were delicious, and the soup was excellent as well. The place itself is a charming old pub with thick walls and quirky seating areas. It's definitely worth a visit after a walk to the castle.

I had a wonderful experience at this beautiful place. The room was stunning, and the bathroom was extraordinary, clean, and filled with delightful scents. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and surprisingly, it was very quiet despite being above the pub and across from the street. The food was excellent, a bit on the pricey side, but it was served hot and tasted amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the overall experience fantastic. Highly recommended!
