"a little late writing this one (august stay). The interior is dated and worn in places, BUT clean ! I had to wait quite a while for host to show up i think this was more about covid protocols and not their normal way of doing business. but be aware they are not always onsite. Basic hot pot with coffee and tea options. Room was small size, bed ok. Old furniture but everything was very clean and well maintained. I reserved ensuite but room wasn 't working or something, so bathroom for room i was given was down the hall at the opposite end of room. Breakfast was a 'challenge . on site restaurant was closed. hours for local options were all wrong not BnB fault, but take that into consideration if onsite meal is important. there is restaurant across the street but buffet is major part of meal service (no thank you during covid) or fried fish or very over cooked hamburger. Bathroom was clean, well appointed shower only. Lighting in room was ok hard to use desk because it was stuffed between bed and wall, so i ended up sitting on bed to use natural light from window. Room was not what i reserved some issue with the one i reserved so i will chalk that up to maintenance. Nothing bad but nothing over the top awesome either. It is clean and basic. Very expensive for a basic room. You are 15 mins walk to the ferry which was why i picked this location. There is a grocery store about 5 mins walk down the road. Plenty of places in town to eat but make your reservation for dinner (WEEKS) before you travel. there is no walk in during covid even though window signs say it is okay it just doesn 't work. We had to wait 1 hour and they said it'll be ready at 5 35 then they said after it was 5 40 it'll be ready at 5 55 and I nearly missed my bus because of it Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere and the service provided by the friendly owner, Roddy, is excellent. The breakfast options are delicious and include the local specialty, Stornoway black pudding.

We have just enjoyed a stunning meal at Number 30. Beautiful seafood chowder, then we shared the cod seabass main dishes, very differently prepared, both delicious. We couldn’t resist the cranachan pannacotta desserts, deliciously light yummy. All in a peaceful airy room, with friendly attentive service. Ver carta

Don't book via booking.com booked and paid £220.00 for two nights stay, booked 16th June for a stay on the 22nd June. Due to the lack of ferry availability I wanted to amend my booking, not cancel for the following week, I was unable to do so, after being prompted via email several times to leave a review for the stay, I left one, this has been blocked by booking.com.

I stayed at this guest house overnight before taking the ferry back to the mainland. I must say, I was quite disappointed with my experience, especially considering the prices charged. I am giving it two stars for allowing me to check in early to leave my luggage, its convenient location (near the town center and ferry terminal), and the friendly owners. However, as a solo traveler, I was given a very small bedroom under the stairs (room 3) with barely enough space for my luggage. The window didn't close properly, making it noisy from the traffic on the main road. The bedroom had no main light, the WiFi signal was weak, and the TV didn't work. I was also disappointed to find that the toilet...
