The Pear - Carta

The 4th or 5th time we have visited and when I ask what my mum and daughter who share the same birthday want to go for a meal it’s The Pear, always.

A lovely setting with a decent menu and good options. Restaurant was clean, nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. Menu was of a decent size a little expensive like most post covid. I had a steak which was good not great. Service was ok. Would go back again Ver carta

We arrived 15 minutes before the end of the lunchtime service and weren't expecting to still be able to order. Fortunately we were met with some fantastic, understanding staff who explained that we could still order from the lunch menu as long as we didn't want starters. Food was absolutely excellent and can't fault the service either!

Arrived promptly for a 12noon reservation. Initial waitress rather surly. Advised that we had to leave our table by 1.45. Starters arrived but main course not served till 1.15. We noted that many tables arriving after us were well into their main course. Food was good although coffee served later was almost cold Altogether an unfortunate experience and we will certainly not be returning

The restaurant had a beautiful outdoor green space and a high standard interior. The staff were friendly and attentive. However, on a Sunday when we wanted to sit outside and have a light bite, we were told the only option was a roast dinner. We were surprised and disappointed that there were no other choices available, especially since the restaurant markets itself as The Pear Dining Pub. Ver carta

My friends and I frequent this restaurant often and have always enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service. However, during our recent visit for Sunday roast, we were disappointed to find that the roast potatoes were hard and tasteless, and the cauliflower was undercooked. The main course was reasonably priced at £15.95, but we were shocked to see that desserts were priced at £9.50 each. Despite this, we still have a fondness for the restaurant, although it may have slipped a few spots on our list of favorites.

We have returned to this restaurant once again, and we are becoming regulars now. It continues to be lovely and busy on Fridays, which is a good sign. All of the dishes are excellent, and I believe the four of us have tried them all, including the starters. A word of caution on the battered fish and chips - the portion is quite large as it advertises, so be prepared for a generous serving. Despite having to dig out the peas and chips from under the large piece of fish, everything was delicious, so I can't really complain.

Had a lovely evening meal with family in this gorgeous restaurant. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is so lovely looking out over the beautiful grounds. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and are extremely pleasant to deal with. Top marks and many thanks go to our lovely waitress who crawled on the floor under our table when my 90 year old mother broke her necklace and very kindly picked up all the beads for her. I’m sure that’s not in her job description haha! Highly recommended as a relaxed friendly place to eat. Ver carta
