"We were taken for lunch at the Red Lion last Saturday by my wife's parents to say thank you for hosting them at Christmas as they had been several times before. On arrival, I was surprised by the lovely garden (it must be fantastic in the summer) and the tasteful décor. My starter of tuna carpaccio was delicious (albeit a little thicker than I'm used to) and others' prawns smelled fantastic (also very tasty apparently). However, my pork belly main was really disappointing as it contained only 3 mouthfuls of meat at most the rest was just fat. Obviously, it's not a lean cut but such a small amount of meat was unacceptable. My son's girlfriend had the same and hers looked to contain much more meat, so I may have just got the short stick. I was also surprised by the lack of side vegetables just a potion of mash potato mixed with black pudding and colcannon. I think it would have been better to these....and perhaps include some other vegetables on the plate. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the service was very good (although it was very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime), so I must have been unlucky but I don't expect to need a full meal in the evening after what was a fairly expensive lunch."

Our time at the Red Lion was absolutely fantastic. From the delicious food to the attentive staff and excellent service, every little detail was just perfect. We couldn't find a single flaw. This hidden gem surpasses all other dining options in the area with its exceptional cuisine.

I was pleased with the variety of choices on the menu. The Steak Tartare and seabass were cooked beautifully. My husband enjoyed the scallops and cod, which were also perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and despite being busy, the restaurant was not noisy. I am already excited for our next visit.

We went for lunch and were suitably impressed. The food was delicious, with added extras. A good menu, lots of options and a great wine menu too! We sat in the conservatory with a view of the garden, which looks like it’ll be a good place to be in the summer! Great staff, good service. Highly recommend!

I made a reservation for a table for three at this restaurant. When we arrived, we were informed that children under 12 were not allowed inside the restaurant but could be in the pub or pub garden, which I later found out was stated on their website. My 6-month-old child was in a car seat and I was surprised to learn that dogs were allowed inside the pub instead. I requested to speak to the manager, who was very unhelpful and quite rude.

There were too many cocktails to choice from, and three of our selections had far too much ice allocated. We love the classics, which wasn’t available. Food was not up to scratch. Food was served not hot to all our table. Wallpaper was a headache. Needs more attention to detail. Expensive for three courses. Small portions. Realistically our group should have gone to the pub, and cooked at home! Not value for money. Too many dogs in the bar in the evenings. Windsor

Third time I have dined here and not had a single thing to grumble about. Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and good service. What more could you want for a Sunday lunchtime. I love the fact it's over 12's only, you are assured of a relaxing meal. Food is beautifully cooked, plentiful and delicious. Yorkshire puds to die for, they literally melt in your mouth along with the meat. The staff are intuitive and appear at just the right moment. The decor is contemporary and everyeherr is spotlessly clean. This is truly a gem tucked away. Thank you to all of the team. Ver carta

We attended this pub that neither of us had ever visited before and, have to say, didn 't even know existed (we thought we 'd booked for another pub lol). However, it was an excellent mistake on our part and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had the two course Sunday lunch hubby had the lamb which just melted when cut and I had the half a chicken again very moist and well cooked. There were plenty of vegetables along with real gravy and an absolutely huge yorkshire pudding each. We then had desert and hubby had the treacle tart with cream and sauce (and cheekily asked for a scoop of ice cream which the lovely waiter gave him) and I had the cheese board. We were both so stuffed at the end it...

The food is always great we eat here every 4 6weeks, its our favourite restaurant in the area. An interesting and seasonal menu, freshly prepared on site and very different to the chain 'gastro pubs ' and is really a restaurant. including home made bread home made butter included, along with a delicious Amuse Bouche. An excellent choice of wine too! The service is always friendly and accommodating. The delicious meats are aged in the on premise salt meat locker. The fish is always beautifully cooked. I particularly like that there are no children under the age of 12 dining, it makes for the one restaurant in the village without any loud demanding children and makes for a very relaxing meal....

"stovells chobham surrey it is a hidden gem of this place with its South American influenced French theme menu. home made stovells gin is the series of the day my ex-college girl has made, now excellent chef fernando, and younger has come far. he will be on Saturday's kitchen this week with chef james martin, probably talking about the Mexican and Argentine punsch he put into his eating. the settings are more homely, but this is chobham for them a real quantendorf that is fucked somewhere in deep surrey. the entrance was greeted by a warm open fire from dried of wood and a cocktail or two. low ceilings, but the beams make them feel like they could go into a very lush pub! amuse bouche was a beautiful surprise, and the wood fired baked brot was delicious. smoked butter to go with it. grilled makrele, terrine, braided brisket, cadjau, petit pois asacienne and a whisper of chard all washed with a fine Spanish white, made it a very Mediterranean afternoon with a much taste and a beautiful environment too. the restaurant was full and the chairs were really comfortable, we enjoyed it immensely. my schokopude was perfectly plated and I loved the milcheis that came with him. the cheese selection was incredibly well thought-out and well presented with its own small card! 10/10 well made chef fernando, happy to see how great her restaurant does: and thank you for her generousness"

"This restaurant was very busy and quite crowded on arrival on Saturday night. Our table was situated between two noisy parties so we waited a further20 minutes to be moved to a quieter position. My best friend and I were meeting up after a long time and we had a lot to talk about! Our starters were very nice. I chose an aubergine dish which came piping hot, and my friend chose the tricolore. However the evening was spoiled by one of the main courses of calves liver being served completely cold, and my sea bass mains was served just luke warm. The liver was sent back and microwaved for 5 minutes with the excuse that the kitchens that night had been chaotic and they had forgotten to heat the food! The mixed vegetables for two were quite frankly bland and minimal, and comprised warm soggy roast potatoes, roast carrots and just one sprig of boiled broccoli. I would expect more from a restaurant which professes to serve quality Italian fare. At £60 per head for two courses and no offer of a price reduction for the cold food, I find it unacceptable under any circumstances and is a reflection that the maître d’ really doesn’t know how to treat discerning customers. Fortunately the Sicilian Gallo wine was very pleasant but the whole evening was spoiled by the main course being less than satisfactory. Would I return? Definitely not ..until they have sorted out their chaotic kitchens and stop serving unheated prepared food."
