First time visit with friends who had been there before. Had tried their award winning pies previously )but was even more impressed after sitting in for a meal. Loved the chicken bhuna pie and 3 sides that I had. My partner and friends also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be back to try other delicious looking meals on the menu. I picked up some pies from this restaurant at a Christmas market over the weekend. The man working at the stall was not very friendly and did not seem interested in helping us. Unfortunately, we ended up receiving the wrong pies. We tried them anyways and found that one, which was a chicken and haggis pie, was quite good. However, the other two pies were not as impressive - the chicken was tough in one pie and the macaroni pie had only 6 pieces of macaroni in a cheese sauce. We go very often to this little gem of a restaurant and last night we attended a Taste of Angus where Haley and her team along with other local producer gave us a really enjoyable evening. The Wee Cook Kitchen is more than their award winning pies. They have an extensive core menu and at weekends have their secret menu full of great tasting food all made fresh. If you have never been give it a try I promise you won't regret it. Vegetarian options: As stated for vegans can give good options including two award winning pies. Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free vegitarian and Vegan options

We stopped at this restaurant on our way back from a trip to Carnoustie to pick up some takeaway pies for dinner at home. The pies we had, bhuna and macaroni cheese with pickles, were delicious. While a bit pricey, we appreciated that they use homemade products and quality ingredients. The rest of the menu also looked promising. The restaurant is in an unusual location, but it is simple both inside and out. It may be small, but it is very clean and tidy. We were served promptly, but had to wait 15 minutes for our takeaway coffee, which felt like a long time. Unfortunately, there were no vegan options available for one of the people in our group, which was disappointing as he couldn't eat alo...

Not the greatest, very disappointed with award winning pie which was definitely not cooked long enough, ended up with stomach cramps, then violently sick a few hours later which was no coincidence and certainly not fun to try to deal with. Expensive for food and drink also, never again! Looking at the negative business reviews, I can see that when the business owner receives one they instantly blame the reviewer (see reply by owner to this review also) but maybe the owner would get on better with current, previous and even future customers if they didn 't do this and instead just put their hands up and apologised, lucky I did not contact environmental health.
