Absolutely first class home cooked food. Had the pie of the day which was steak. Perfect short crust pastry with a deep fill of tender steak. Never had a better pie !

Late arrivals for Sunday lunch, a very warm welcome and very nice roast beef and pork. Staff very friendly, lovely landlady. Thanks for making a rainy Sunday so nice.

We always enjoy the amazing food and top-notch customer service at this restaurant. Dining here is a delight, with the owners being incredibly friendly even when busy. The dishes are consistently fresh and served in generous portions. I highly recommend dining at this establishment.

They overcooked the duck completely. When I sent it back, a rude woman came over and said they had sold 5 of them at lunch. Maybe mine was reheated from lunch. She later came back and apologized, saying a trainee chef had cooked it and it slipped past. The restaurant was empty for a reason. We won't be returning.

We booked a table for a Thursday evening in early March, though it turned out not to be necessary as we were the only ones eating in the restaurant. The pork loin was enjoyable, generous portions with plenty of vegetables. Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and a lovely log fire on a cold night. Reasonable prices, too. Certainly deserving of more custom than they had this evening.

Our experience at this hotel was amazing. For a start, it’s absolutely beautiful and the pictures of it online really don’t do it justice. I was there with my husband and mum in law, and are en suite rooms were both stunning with much attention to detail. The bar staff and it’s an extensive bar with many tables were very accommodating and polite with good humour. But beyond all of the above, the food was outstanding. We had dinner last night and breakfast this morning; and it was delicious. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone who likes beauty, organisation, and a friendly service.

The Tollemache Arms in Buckminster offers a somewhat eccentric experience. While there are both positives and negatives, the atmosphere may remind you of the film Deliverance mixed with the pub from An American Werewolf in London when it comes to the locals. Despite some shady characters, the owners of the pub are friendly and the establishment itself is charming. The food and drinks are also enjoyable. However, the behavior of the locals can be off-putting, as they seem to have a cowardly nature. Overall, the Tollemache Arms is a decent pub located in a somewhat traditional setting.

I required 2 rooms in or close to Scalford for myself and a colleague to stay before a days staff training. Looked about, there were vacancies in Scalford, but not that I could accept. I opted for the Tollemache arms, purely on reviews by previous guests. I was not disappointed. The people at the Tollemache arms are in a service industry and they get it, they provide a service, with a smile, easily, nothing is too much. They are just nice. From the initial phone call to make the booking, to the reception on my arrival, to the evening meal, and a really wonderful packed breakfast. All good, better than good. Phoned and booked direct, really helpful from initial contact, with if we 're closed...
