"My family and I stopped by the Buzz Cafe in Wantage for a quick pick-me-up after a 2.5 hour drive from the South Coast for a family funeral. We were greeted by a friendly and cheerful lady named Forces who made us feel very welcome despite the somber occasion. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and to top it off, the lady made a donation to the Royal British Legion, a charity that was dear to our family member's heart. She expressed that she wished it could have been more, but the gesture was truly touching and heartfelt. Thank you for your warmth and generosity. The Hickman Family."

"Staff at The Lamb are lovely, and it's a nice pub to eat in. Good value for money. I was personally a little disappointed by the food this time, the ham from my ham egg and chips was processed and formed, rather than carved from a joint, but it was perfectly edible. They do offer Sunday roasts, but these are not carved meat from a joint."

"We regularly visit The King Alfreds Head because it is a really lovely friendly pub and the food is great. I especially loved the fish finger sandwich. Not this time what’s happened to it ? The fish fingers were very cheap probably catering packs of...fish fingers the fish was grey and didn’t taste very nice has the chef changed maybe the sandwich had lettuce in, which made the sandwich soggy and the tartare sauce was spread IN the sandwich, not on the side like it should be. Basically it was horrible not up to their normal standard. I was very disappointed I have recommended this pub to friends and family and the food has definitely let it down this time. My daughter had a burger which was also not great the burger was actually cut up in pieces in the bun and very dry. I have never had sub standard food from this pub before maybe it was an ‘off’ day. The staff are lovely friendly and helpful. It won’t stop us from going there because we love it so much but I think the food needs to be better and maybe vary the menu a bit too."

"This is a lovely café tucked away a little, approximately behind the Post Office Vaults. It is immaculately clean and new-feeling, although it is very popular, so clearly they are established here. The coffee is fab and the prawn mayo and avocado sandwich I had was delicious. The cheese, onion and tomato toastie my friend had was also very nice. The service was efficient and friendly. Also what a refreshing change it is to see dogs being allowed back into some cafés, such as this one. We will definitely be back when we visit Wantage again."
