Lovely meal and staff. I had a tasty home cooked steak pie and my companion had a vegetarian curry.Good food in a cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Came here as part of a large group for a meal and it was fantastic. The food was served quickly, was piping hot and delicious to boot. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Have never been here before but will definitely be back.

Booked a meal here couple of nights ago, so glad we did. I had the steak pie and have to say it was one of the best if not THE best steak pie I’ve ever had. Huge plateful as well. We’ve just moved to the area and needless to say we’ll be returning frequently as there’s loads of other stuff to try on the menu

Phoned at the last minute for a reservation and we’re very accommodating lovely atmosphere very friendly staff food was very good even changed the potatoes to mash for my lamb shank which fell of the bone the wife had the dressed crab which was lovely starters were great wasn’t waiting long either definitely go again and recommend the place Ver carta

This is an absolute gem. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the pub is a lovely traditional place, and more importantly, the food is delicious. Good pub food that’s much better than expected. We visited twice during our weeks holiday, and between us we had lasagne, scamp, pie and chicken. All were excellent. They also do a great choice of real ales. Overall a smashing pub with lovely food, beer and people. Highly recommend.

Met friend's for dinner and a catch up. Ordered the Lamb Shank with chips and veg and my partner had Surfers Special. All the staff were very attentive polite and professional. The food was nicely presented and hot and arrived at the table all together. Lamb shank was delicious it was really tender very tasty and fell off the bone. They brought extra gravy/sauce and individual pots of mint/Tartar sauce. Drinks were offered and brought to the table. Fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy batter and the chips were thick cut and just the right texture. Both the food and the service was excellent. Will definitely go again for another meal soon.

We called in for a meal Friday evening after arriving for a break in Bempton. A friendly local pub the staff where helpful and friendly. The meal was good honest pub food plenty of it nice hot and tasty. As on holiday we also had booked for Sunday lunch it's not a Carvery but a choice of three meats also option of a smaller portion, only sorry they had sold out of a couple of the desserts. Called in again on Tues I enjoed a lovely Sweetpotato,chickpea and spinach curry with rice and nan, whilst my husband had a burger and chips, again could not fault the food or the staff . It's a lovely local pub which will also do take aways if possible. It is advisable to book in advance for Sunday Lunch... Ver carta
