"Have been visiting this place for 20 years but now seems to have taken a turn for the worst. The friendly helpful staff seem to have gone and the guy that screwed up our order in 2014 still works there and was unhelpful. The restaurant has moved back from across the road to its old location. Here may lay the issue that it attracted large volumes of people and parties that can't be fitted back into its smaller space. So that seems to be it for me onion soup will be off and that's it for friendly staff as management go up market away from the local German feeling of a tavern. Will give it another go in 2017 perhaps, but upsetting just the same that eating traditions are smashed."

was a busy evening in Trier, but we timed it right as a couple left so we grabbed the table quickly, the food we chose was typical for this region and was fantastic

The restaurant offers a great atmosphere and authentic food paired with a friendly and helpful service. All orders went through quickly despite a crowed dining room.

Very good German food, excellent regional wine and beer, friendly staff who spoke perfect English. We came here with a child and a baby, the whole family enjoyed it very much.

We heard about this restaurant, so we gave us a try. We had a family dinner of eight persons. Portions were great. Quality excellent. Pricing reasonable. There is nothing more to add.

Worst experience in Europe. The host was rude to us at the start and it kept on going throughout the dinner. We couldn't wait to get out of there. The food was subpar-it didn't have much taste.

Delicious Dinner! We had their French onion soup to start followed by veal cordon bleu. For dessert, I had apple strudel while my husband had cheese cake. The waiter was superb and atmosphere was lively and everyone was enjoying their evening.

Visited for dinner after walking across Trier for several hours. Location is nice, just few meters off from busiest street. Service was quick, food arrived in a matter of minutes. Portions were great and price was reasonable. We could visit again.

We were seated outsider on a very cosy terras, just next to the crowdy chopping street. Clean, cosy. Extremely friendly waiter. Excellent German food, the Moselfish were like sardines. Fine asparagus. Good wines, the Molitor blanc de noir was a fine discovery.

The food is very nice, but in my 2 recent visits I got the impression that you should better not speak any exotic language there. They had taken my telephonic booking either. I have been twice there asked to settle my bill early (smth I have never ever experienced anywhere before): my impression is that if they are unable to identify your nationality, they believe you are less likely to be able to pay for your dinner? But the food is nice and there is plenty of space inside. Anyway, I believe they will be nice to the "large rich nations" so no worries if you belong to them.
