"At best, really drab food, most of which looked like it had been prepared hours (if not days) earlier. Well, that's not quite true - the beer was absolutely fine. But the food and the service were generally terrible.A number of dishes turned up with random extra ingredients (for instance, a simple leek flammkuchen turned up with sweetcorn and diced pepper as well which while hardly outrageous were certainly unwanted). Worst of all, one of our group asked if the restaurant could do a pfefferlinge (chanterelle) flammkuchen and the waitress said they could. But it came with little bits of speck (ham) here and there. It was obvious that they had taken a pre-prepared speck and pfefferlinge flammkuchen and taken as much of the speck off as they could in a hurry. When we pointed this out to the waitress she said that she would "tell the kitchen" but that there was nothing else she could do. She then avoided us for the rest of the time we were there."

Not only delicious but also great value for money. Especially in the asparagus season the best place to go.

we did not eat here, but we went on a Friday night to listen to some live music. Great band "Nobody's Perfect" !! Great atmosphere. Cheap beer! We had a great time!

Lunch after visiting Schwetzigen Gardens and Palace. The pancake soup was ok and the Liver and Onions was tasty!! Could use an English translation menu. We enjoyed a nice salad.

In a big group we enjoyed the set menu with asparagus. Spargelzeit! This was some of the best white asparagus I've eaten. The soup, salad, spargel and schnitzel were all delicious and extremely generous portions. Ver carta

We were out cycling and stopped for lunch. I had asparagus crepes. She had Flamkuchen with leeks, asparagus, and ham. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the palace and a glass, ok I admit, two glasses of Weißburgunder. Lovely place, great food, wonderful wine.

A return visit, this time on my own and at about 7pm on a Saturday evening. Really busy, but they still found me somewhere to sit and eat - a fine schnitzel with good beer. No slow service either. I was made to feel very welcome and could have spent all evening there (if I hadn't had to come by car). Solid German fare, done well.

Stopped here to visit with our German friends from Hanover. The best part of the dinner was their company and second was our server. The food was traditional German food and was solid but not outstanding. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. Wen were fortunate to have a German couple with us for translation but our server surprised us by also being able to speak English - better than our German friends. The portions served were overly generous. Ver carta

A group of us caught "Spargel" fever during "Spargelzeit" (end April to June 24) and dropped by zum Gruenen Baum to enjoy some. Schwetzingen's white asparagus is amongst the best in Germany, and the restaurant did justice to the delicate flavors of this royal vegetable in various forms - as a soup, in a salad, and boiled. Our "Spargel" feast included a choice of either cooked ham, schnitzel, Argentinian sirloin steak or pan-fried salmon filet - the portions were very generous!

Springtime is spargel (white asparagus) time in Germany and this restaurant in the heart of spargel country is a great way to enjoy this delicious tuber. The offerings of spargel dishes we sampled here, spargel with schnitzel and spargel over pork loin with melted parmesan, were some of the best we've ever had. Zum Grünen Baum is located at the end of the square across the street from the Schloss. Dining here is a perfect way to cap an afternoon of touring this charming German town.

"we were in the old town of Saloon 2 times this year. once before Christmas and once for Christmas. I'll start. we were accommodated in a nearby hotel and met randomly in the old town of Saloon. as absolute USB fans we chose the restaurant and were lucky to get a table. thematic of the device: Mega, Mega and again Mega! a typical sedan entrance with the characteristic folding doors is already installed at the entrance. the wallpaper, the wall lights, the many wood on the wall, the ceiling and the floor, the piano on the corner and the counter is so harmonious! even the windows bear the name of the restaurant in the typical western font. very loving and furnished to detail. Just embarrassing. You must have seen. now for Christmas, the restaurant is decorated Christmas and also here find paralelles to the usa; we love it. this beautiful restaurant has not only visually what to offer, but also culinaryly correct. burger, sparrips landbrötchen milchshakes uvm. are here on the map. as part of our two visits we have already ordered quite well through the map because everything was so super listening and we quickly realized that not everything was just good, but was really delicious. The Pattys for the big burgers are homemade! also the roles and people you have to try the ranchdip. that's so great! Milk cascakes were super like burgers, reservers, rolls, carrots and brownies. The latter were so incredibly juicy there are many bakeries by far not. Those who love the American way will not be disappointed here. on the contrary! what is missing is the service. the service is not only very friendly and attentive, but also very warm. You're talking like you've known each other for a long time. the service forces carry Stilecht Revolver and Cowboy hat. We've never seen. We'll keep looking in. Dear, old Städtchen-Saloon team, keep it up! Your concept we love!"
