"It’s fair to say it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a Wetherspoons The manager who was on shift on the 29th September was totally out of her depth. The person in question has no customer service skills no manors and no respect towards customers When I asked for a receipt for a void transaction she couldn’t provide one and the attitude was just and check you bank When I asked again for a receipt she said I getting the door staff to kick you out. On a positive note the door staff were very understanding and agreed with me etc well done to the gentleman who I spoke to"

"I 've been here plenty of times before but never experienced someone so rude as Shantel the manager or so I 'm told. This woman came to address an issue with the bacon as it looked like it was cut fresh off the pig. (This was on the 8th of July 2023). When she approached my girlfriend and I, she began to lecture us on how the bacon was pre cooked before arriving to site. I accepted this but still wanted the issue resolved, which was hard enough. She needs a good lesson in manners! Then once I was made to pay the difference on an item that would replace my unedible sandwich, she lectured me again on how I should just deal with it because of how hard it is working in hospitality, boo hoo... here 's a lesson I 'm sorry, please and thank you . You can start there. Her attitude was so terrible I asked one of the staff jokingly if she has spat in my girlfriend burger, as that was the attitude she gives off. Yet to have received an apology"

"We made a reservation for Mother's Day and knew it would be busy, so we expected a wait. However, after waiting for 40 minutes, we approached the bar to inquire about our order, only to be told that they had lost our ticket. After an additional 15 minute wait, our food finally arrived, but it was lukewarm and we had to eat quickly. We were too hungry to bother addressing this with the staff and just wanted to eat and leave at that point. We would have gone somewhere else if we could, but due to it being Mother's Day, our options were limited. We were also disappointed with the waiter service as we were not greeted upon arrival and were left to seat ourselves. Additionally, after receiving our food, no one checked in to see if everything was satisfactory. Overall, it was a very disappointing Mother's Day experience."

"I’ve ordered from here quite with no problems. Tonight was the first issue we’ve ever had but as soon as we called up, the issue was resolved and new food was delivered with some extras, we collected so wasn’t willing to go back out but the person we spoke to offered to have it delivered if we didn’t mind waiting. We’ve never ordered on a Saturday before and they were much busier than when we normally order mid-week, next time I’ll double check the order before leaving and there shouldn’t be any problems Their sauces are the reason this takeaway is my go to so they’re forgiven for forgetting a side Vegetarian options: I’ve never had a problem. When ordering I make sure they know what’s for the fussy vegetarian and what’s not and as far as I can tell it’s all cooked correctly. I even order a butter chicken sauce with no chicken and they’re happy to accommodate. I usually struggle with takeaways but as this is a restaurant too they seem to have a very good understanding Dietary restrictions: They’ve always checked for different allergens if I’ve asked Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Went for Sunday lunch. Reserved a table as it gets busy. I eat Sunday lunch once a year on Xmas day so it wasn’t my thing but went along with my sisters. I do not eat veg and asked for none on my plate. I just had beef , roast potatoes and new potatoes and have to say it was delicious. The food was piping hot. Beef was so tender. The veg was carrots , broccoli and cabbage. My sisters said they were really nice. There were four cleared plates at the end. We had desserts. Raspberry roulade. That was delicious too. I presumed it would come in a bowl but was really well presented on a plate. The staff were all happy , smiling , friendly and accommodating. It cost £10 for lunch and £4.50 for dessert and well worth it. Will be visiting again very soon."

"Decided to pop out for some lunch today, and my gosh what a lovely friendly environment. Service was excellent, All staff were smiling and polite no matter the customer!! Despite our lovely afternoon, it was such a shame to see two men shout and be so rude to the young girls at the bar. We were sat near to where everything was being said, and were very impressed with how the management team handled the situation, especially with how abrupt these men were being. It was such a shame to see the staff intimidated when all they were doing was being friendly and trying to resolve a situation. Overall lovely experience, hope those two are banned and cause no further issues."

"Today, I visited The Darran for lunch with my dad and occupational therapist. There was only one lady working, but she was kind and explained that she was on her own. She brought our drinks over and gave us some time to decide on our orders. Despite having to wait a bit, I didn't mind because she was managing everything by herself. The buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken were delicious and beautifully presented. The chips and fries were flavorful and enjoyable. The rocket salad was also really tasty. The drinks were fresh and the decor was lovely. Although the restaurant didn't have the Marston's logo, it had other indicators that it was a Marston's establishment. It reminded me of The Otter and The Spring River. I believe they should add the Marston's logo, but overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place for a meal, 10/10."

"The Tylers Arms did the catering after my Mother and Fathers interment. They catered for about 40 guest. The food was outstanding and the service was first class. Gary and the team really looked after us all and had no problem catering for a diverse audience, the vegan option was superb. We were all made thoroughly welcome and had a great time. Professional, customer focussed and affordable. I would highly recommend the Tylers Arms to anyone. Thank you for making our day a real celebration."

"We have spent a lot of time in this pub over the years and I have never had a bad mouthful of food here ever until today, I ordered the corn beef pie which has always been delicious, the food arrived and I could tell at once that this was not the usual pie, this was a cheap horrible looking pie with lumps of potato in it and even more lumps in the gravy, it was returned to the kitchen and I opted for the mixed grill instead, which comprised of 2 cheap tasting sausages a bit of dried chicken, a small tough steak which I could not even cut through (which was brought home intact for the dog) and the tiniest piece of shrivelled up gammon for the princely sum of £22.95 , the menu choices have been cut back radically and there were several things out of stock, no lasagne, no cheesecake and no crumble, I was back home by around 9pm the whole evening ruined. In summing up, the quality of the food was cheap and horrible but the prices being charged were premium, which is a great shame because this is a lovely little pub, quite frankly we have had much better in Wetherspoons for a fraction of the price, unfortunately we won't be returning, the worst meal out in a long long time!"

"After hearing that the pub was under new management I thought we would give it a try,We were seated next to the ladies toilet I question if this table is legal under the Health and safety act the table partially blocked access to the toilet I question is this about increasing seating coming up to Christmas over health and safety .We had to put our coats back on due the draft every time someone opened the main door.Food I ordered the lamb and mint pie with chips and peas the pie filling was tasty and the gravy was nice the pie lid tasted stale straight out of the freezer the portion were also small.My partner is a vegetarian and didn’t want curry mushrooms or a pasta dish so she had the sharing Welsh baked cheese starter has her main this was a sharing starter for over £14 we a maximum 5 inch diameter cheese 2 slices of Bread and butter and a red onion chutney this was exceptional poor value.We had2 different desserts which we had to wait 30 minutes for, most probably waiting for them to defrost both very under whelming one of these came on a chipped plate.Whilst paying we did complain to the waitress and a waiter earlier on in the night. To sum it up poor environment food is not freshly made I would say most of it came out of the freezer and reheated small portions and not good value."

"Amazing, stunning cakes, I of go there at least once a week with my family. You are guaranteed service with a smile and a laugh. Staff are so friendly, always up for a chat. The food is gorgeous, they have lovely milkshakes, cakes, paninis, and...coffees, and I would recommend anyone coming here, whether youre with friends or family, or on your own. I can recommend: Caramel iced latte Rocky road, or brownies (any flavour) Ice cream milkshakes Jaffa cake cake (for chocoholics! Each dish we ordered was well-presented, incredibly appetizing, and tasted delicious. The homemade desserts we ordered were large and did not disappoint in flavor. The staff was very accommodating and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for its warm welcome, cleanliness, and great value for money."

"We visited the last weekend of March for Sunday Lunch. Tried to call to see if there was any availability but there was apparently trouble with the phones so was asked to book via messenger which I did. When we arrived they had no information of our booking which we had made and had been confirmed. Plenty of tables available anyway so not a problem. We sat down , and told there were no menus as they were being printed so server read out the options. menu could have been written on the empty blackboard in the dinning area). We both ordered the roast beef dinner. Extremely disappointed is an understatement. One small slice of very dried beef, a Yorkshire pud which contained a stuffing ball which I couldn’t even cut with my knife, veg was minimal and well over done. I dont expect Michelin level food but at least something decent for the above average price we paid . Probably the worst Sunday lunch I’ve experienced in the area and especially from this Inn. Certainly wont be going there again. Much better options in and around the area. Sorry but I have to be honest"

"We have used this take away for over 20 years. However, after the last abysmal experience we will be looking elsewhere. Ordered a take away. All veggie apart from Chicken curry. Person taking order repeated back the order. Confirmed it and it would be 20 mins. We went to collect 20 mins later. Only to be kept waiting for a further 20 mins plus. Half way through she asked how we wanted the sweet and sour to be cooked??? Also mentioned that Chicken curry was not vegan? A bit confused by that. Finally the food was ready took it home only to discover NO CHICKEN CURRY. We rang and were told it was not on the order. It was pointed out that not only had we ordered it the person taking the order had repeated it back. No we were told it was not included????? If we wanted the Chicken curry we would have to go back and collect it or they would deliver and charge not only for the curry but also delivery. No apology for them messing up the order. No apology for overcharging us for the food which DID NOT include the Chicken Curry. We said no we wanted the Curry and we expected them to deliver it free of charge. They had messed up the order. They had charged for food that was not included and why should we have to wait another 30 40 mins for the food. We then had a knock at the door approx 20 mins later. The Chicken Curry had arrived and they wanted £5.25 for the curry and delivery. The delivery lady was firmly told NO. We paid for the order, they messed it up and they had charged and we were not paying again. We received £29.90 worth of food according to their menu but were charged £32.45 and they wanted a further £5.25 on top. WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN. THEY WERE SLOW, THE FOOD WAS NOT WHAT WAS ORDERED AND THEY OVERCHARGED. Even worse they would not see that it was their error and they refused to put it right. Anyone can make a mistake but to refuse to acknowledge your mistake and put it right is wrong."

"It was a pleasant surprise to see more staff serving during our recent visit, which greatly improved the speed and ease of ordering. The staff were efficient in taking our food and drink orders promptly. However, the food did not meet our expectations based on previous experiences. The steak meal was quite basic and did not justify the premium price. We were disappointed to find that there was no children's menu, and the option to supplement a child's meal with a smaller main dish was overpriced at £12.00 for fish and chips. Additionally, the temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably cold, as the massive open fire was not lit. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this pub. It is disappointing as we have been loyal customers for many years and previously found it to be good value for money."

"What a lovely place, the staff were friendly and the decor is very nice. A great improvement on what the Angel used to be like. Everywhere was clean, even the toilets, and the place just felt like you wanted to be there. The food was good, the steak was a little over done for my taste and the chips a little under, but the onion rings were fantastic and the steak sauce I had was sublime. To give the angel less than stars would be a sin, but it wasnt quite heavenly."

"Oh dear. What a shame. When we first sat down the waiter was brusque. He obviously found our party of eight, which included one child, and one vegan, pretty tiresome. We had called ahead to check that the restaurant offered vegan options, but there were none on the menu. Our guest was advised to order cauliflower (hold the cheese or put together her own dinner from sides. We asked if the chef could suggest a vegan meal (the restaurant was mostly empty at 6;15 so we didn't feel it was too much of an imposition ...the answer was..order sides ...the sides were fairly uninspiring (potatoes, carrots, plain greens so our vegan guest and her child left. And then there were six... We ordered fish and one order of pork. The waiter got the order wrong and brought multiple orders of pork ..so one of our guests ate alone, while the others waited for their food (to be fair, the other server, a lovely waitress, did offer to return that meal and bring all the food at the same time, but our guest was hungry and needed to eat. . The waiter did not apologize and he continued to ignore us for most of the evening. Perhaps chastened by his mistakes, he took orders at the tables around us, shouting them back to customers at full volume. The lovely romantic setting lost its lustre in the face of his boorishness. There were three servers working that evening and I need to point out that the two other waitresses were very solicitous and extremely accommodating. I got the impression they had been hired to compensate for his gruff ineptitude. The sea bass and pork were both delicious. Perfectly cooked. The sides were very good. Would certainly recommend the food, and the setting but the whole experience was marred by one very rude waiter."

"Upon arriving at the traditional, family-friendly pub, we were impressed by the lively atmosphere (with TVs showing live sports, a dart board, and live music) and the friendly staff. We received a warm welcome and found the pub to be tastefully decorated. It was packed with customers, but still very clean. My partner and I decided to have a three-course meal, while our young son just had the main course. I ordered garlic mushrooms for starters, chicken and stuffing roast dinner for my main, and cheesecake for dessert. My partner had fish cake for starters, beef dinner for main, and apple crumble with custard for dessert. Our son had the chicken dinner for his main course but also sampled our starters and desserts. The roast dinners were fantastic, served with a variety of vegetables, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, homemade gravy, and a selection of sauces. The food was delicious and great value for money. We will definitely be returning, as the menu had a wide range of options including vegetarian and children's meals, as well as steaks, burgers, mixed grills, curries, and more."
