"we visited with family. the restaurant was super helpful in explaining food options. there was something for all dietary requirements we had. food came timely, beautifully presented, fresh and very tasty! the range and variety is great, all the food had something unique about it which made the meal all the more interesting to share across us all. good value for money and highly recommended to visit! also to say a lovely atmosphere, welcoming, professional and just right service from the team, great for having a conversation while you eat, lovely colourful vibe, interesting to look at decor, cared for and super clean. could not fault Cafe Brazil :"

"Six of us were let down at another pub for Sunday Roast, but we phoned late on the bank holiday Sunday and were greeted by a very helpful person who said if we arrived by 3:30, he would fit us in. When we got there, the bar and restaurant area was very busy, but the staff were lovely and helpful. We sat outside after ordering because the inside was packed. While we were enjoying our drinks and waiting for our food, it started to rain. They moved us under cover and then found us seating inside just before the food arrived. The food was stunning! Cooked to perfection, it was the best beef roast I have ever had in a restaurant. All six of us agreed. It wasn't expensive either - 2 courses and a drink worked out to just over £22 per person. Well done to the chef and bar staff, you were amazing. We will definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sunday Roast."

"We booked Afternoon Tea at Le Bouchon for a friend's birthday, but we were rather disappointed. In my opinion the restaurant was too busy, with tables very close to each other. It was also extremely hot in there. The food arrived nicely presented and the sandwiches were really fresh and tasty, but I wasn't keen on the sweet items. The chocolate muffin was incredibly dry and all 6 of us didn't eat them. When the waitress collected our plates I told her that none of could eat the muffins as they were so dry but she wasn't interested. The scones were fresh from the oven which was nice but they had a strange taste that was rather bitter. We ate them but one was enough. All in all not as good as we'd expected for the money."

"On a recent trip to meet friends we decided to eat here I was less than impressed. The first member of staff who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly, the other was rude and obnoxious. Our orders were taken quickly and the drinks were bought out in good time, then the waiting began. The food took far too long. In that time we didn 't get asked if we wanted more drinks, my partner had to go and ask for service and for an update on the food. When the food arrived I asked for side plates, mine was dirty so I kindly asked for a clean one, the look I got from the member of staff was that of someone who had taken personal offense. The food was mediocre at a push. Oh and what is with the salad bar? We didn 't realise it was there until we left, is that for 'special ' guests? It would have been good to have know so we could chew on some salad during the wait for our food! I don 't mind food being late if we are kept informed and apologies are offered but that was not the case. It wasn 't even busy when we arrived so that wasn 't the reason the slow service."

"We chose The Swan because we wanted to walk into town, and my goodness what a good choice that was. It was the very best Sunday Lunch we have had for a long time, with the world record biggest Yorkshire Pudding !! Vegetables were cooked beautifully, and the meat was excellent. Cannot recommend this highly enough, although several people were turned away as they were fully booked. Lovely young staff, will definitely visit again and very happy to recommend."

"I can't praise this place enough! I am disabled and have very specific nutritional requirements I have a week before e-mailed and they were so helpful and went beyond and beyond in any view that eating is amazing personal are fantastic and they are reasonably appreciated, they were very good with our 4 yr old daughter, and we would recommend definatly and will visit pat themselves on the back of everyone who works there. if I could give a hundred stars, I thank them for a pleasant lunch"

"house of delight is the best Chinese restaurant. eddie and his employees work so hard that everyone visits make an unforgettable experience. ask for the home specialities and they get healthy, tasty eating from the freshest seasonal fayre. the menu itself is comprehensive and eddie will go out of its way to ensure allergies and gluten-free. we have eaten in many of the best restaurants, but can honestly say that this is our favorite place for a meal with family and friends."

"I had lunch with friends at this restaurant and the food was exceptional, a perfect 10 out of 10. We enjoyed dishes such as mixed lunches with lobster and prawn burgers, braised beef, classic moules, cheese cakes, and a smoked cheese platter. The owners took great care of us, they were very friendly and welcoming. Despite it being a bit of a drive for us, we would definitely come back again. The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting on the tidal bank of the River Blackwater. The service was excellent, we dined in and had a great experience."

"I ordered a takeaway from here and will say that it arrived very quickly however when it arrived one of the meals (pictured below) that is advertised as a £17.95 Tandoori mixed grill dish, had about 4 pieces in and when we phoned up giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking there had been a mistake to then be told that the meal isn’t £17.95 on their menu and it’s the size it is because just eat discounted it. We proceeded to look at their menu which had the discount ‘40% off when you spend over £30’ (so it wasn’t just eat that had done it) and the meal we had ordered priced at £17.95. I am absolutely appalled that we have not only payed a ridiculous amount of money for the food we received but we were also lied to about the reasons behind it. I will definitely not be returning here and expect a refund as most of the food we got was also inedible and went in the bin."

"Had the misfortune of a car breakdown, but managed to crawl to the car park of the Queen's Head. Steve and Tracy the owners of the pub could not have been more helpful. We ended up waiting for the AA for 4 hours. But they both kept a checking up on us and our dogs making sure we had plenty of water. We were there so long we ended up eating there, food was very tasty and freshly cooked. Everyone in the pub was so friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be going back."

"The food was nice, the service, not so nice. The head waiter was walking round arrogantly, the young white guy who cleared our table, had a handful of dirty plates and was walking back to the kitchen and this guy literally shouldered him out of the way. I don't like that. We didn't even get asked if we wanted desert, and there was no offer of coffees etc, it was just like give us your £175 and leave. No free tipple for the girls or anything. Good food, average everything else. Disappointing as it could be so much better"

"A nice village pub with a good, varied menu and a specials board. We enjoyed our meals and have no complaints about the food. The staff are friendly and the service that we had was exceptionally good. My only issue is that they have chairs in the restaurant area that have a wooden strut across the front that hurts the back of your heels, in the achilles tendon area, when you try to shuffle in closer to the table, so be careful. Definitely worth a visit though."

"I myself, my husband daughter went to lunch on the pooristice day after greatsbury cafe. I didn't know if it was busy, so I thought it was best to book. it was very easy to communicate with them and book. I wasn't sure if we were coming too late when my daughter had a doctor's app before, they were very flexible saying it wasn't playing a role. when we arrived there, the table was ready and after a few minutes the menu penetrated, a beautiful dame approached and took our drinks and food order. it was all very relaxed. my man ordered the sausage baguette with cheesy chips, I ordered the omelette with cheese, mushrooms and sausage my daughter ordered the sink and chips. the eating was nice and very generously portioned (I have made pictures of the omelette ham, egg and chips. I had no chance to make pictures of the Baguette Cheesy chips as it disappeared too quickly). I can't believe this little jewel is on our door, I'm looking forward to the return! thanks for a nice lunch. moore family of greatsbury"

"Enjoyed a great meal on opening night 11/11. food was excellent and service great. (Keeley is an excellent host/server efficient and friendly overseeing all staff and tables but still managing to have a chat with guests). New decor is fresh and bright and the atmosphere was lovely. Good luck Green Man a great start I’m sure you will be well supported! Just to add a comment several months down the line we have visited many times both just for a drink but also for meals. Food remains a high standard and service is efficient and friendly. Atmosphere no idea why a recent review rated it as 2/5 because it’s always been lively and fun."

"I 'll start with a positive the lady that served us was delightful. I didn 't catch her name but she was a little older. She was very friendly and couldn 't do enough for us. Unfortunately this is where the positivity ends. Having had 30+ years in the catering trade I understand that I may be a little more critical, however, it doesn 't take years of experience to notice what we saw here yesterday. I was more than a little shocked at some of your hygiene standards. On at least two occasions I saw a member of staff walking through the seating area with a bag of rubbish. Didn 't necessarily have an issue with this until they put the bag on the floor and then served a customer at the 'hatch ' with an ice cream cone. Absolutely no attempt made to clean their hands beforehand. Having been to the bin, they were more than happy to pick up a cornet to fill with ice cream. Also spotted one of your girls licking her finger ready to pick up a cornet. That 's just not on guys. Re food quality has anyone tasted your quiches lately? My homemade quiche lorraine had two pieces of bacon it was basically an unseasoned egg tart. Potatoes were slightly undercooked too. I will say that the leaf salad was lovely and fresh. Your vanilla ice cream that you serve with desserts is obviously a cheap soft scoop. Totally lowered the standard of the whole dessert. Please consider using an elevated option. You have a widely known reputation but I don 't believe this site is working to your brand standards. If it is, maybe this needs to reassessed."

"The restaurant is in a stunning location right on the waterfront. It was very busy during lunchtime, but the staff were excellent. The menu had a good variety of options, and I highly recommend the pflugmann's special. We also tried the sandwiches and the house-made burger, all of which were first-class. They have a wide selection of ales and apple wines from Suffolk, Norfolk, and the local brewery. The prices were very competitive, and the views of the barges were beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"We had a fantastic lunch today with my husband and a friend. Everyone ordered the sea bass, served with roasted vegetables and sweet potato fries. We unanimously agreed that the food was perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. For dessert, we chose the cherry and almond Bakewell tart, which featured a wonderfully soft sponge base and good pastry. Our friend had the strawberry pavlova roulade, which looked amazing and she confirmed it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which greatly enhanced our overall experience. Additionally, there is outdoor seating available if you prefer that option."

"Not long moved to the area. The Kings Head is in the next village. Had friends visiting so thought we’d book a table as it was a Saturday night. We drove into the village from the direction that we got to the car park first without driving past the pub, It was a bit difficult to navigate how to get inside. As there are a collection of barns and what looks like a disused dirty conservatory. There are no entry signs. We were just going to walk back to the car park entrance to enter from the street when we saw a member of staff. She told us to walk through the conservatory then through the restaurant and she would meet us a the bar. We were given a table in the window which had a lovely view but had a huge tv to the side of it which was really distracting. We ordered drinks at the bar and then went to collect menus as none on the table. We picked two different menus that had similar items on but presented very differently. The menu is not easy to read as it’s a huge choice all crammed onto one side of A4 paper. I’m Dyslexic which for me layout not being starters then a list, mains then a list and deserts then a list is really confusing. The layout is kind of newspaper style. Our order was taken and our starters arrived. The young lady serving us was very nice, smiley and relaxed. One of my friends is rather particular about certain things like minimal water being served from a closed bottle with an empty glass not being poured from a hose into the glass and delivered to the table. The young lady was very good at dealing with her. Even though she could not resolve the issue as the pub didn’t have any bottles of minimal water. My starter was kicking chicken wings which were delicious and melted off the bone. My main was beer battered haddock with chunky chips and a side portion of beer battered onion rings. Again delicious. I didn’t eat it all as the portions are a good size. I wanted to save room for dessert. I had the apple crumble with custard. Again delicious. I had a great evening and really enjoyed my food. I’ll definitely be going back again. Next time I will be mindful of who I’m taking as it’s not a brasserie type establishment that I thought it was."

"Sunday Lunch. First impressions; It 's a little minimalist rather than homely, but a great welcome from very helpful staff. My wife 's Roast Chicken dinner was superb. 'One of the best, with succulent chicken, fluffy roasts and 'just perfect ' vegetables ', she tells me. My Crab salad was O.K. I would have preferred both the crab and the dressing served separately, rather than all piled in with the salad leaves. The side order of Chips was excellent. Beautifully crisp and fluffy inside.2 soups 2 mains bottle of wine £66 tipI think they could encourage a greater take up of the wines if they included a greater range of budget wines. These days there are some really good wines which could be offered for less than £15."
