"I booked the premium pasta making masterclass for my partners birthday and I haven't stopped raving about it since. The restaurant was super helpful and accommodated a time change and then a further last minute change. On arrival we were relieved with a warm welcome. We met Chris our host and he made us feel at ease instantly! We were left to relax for a little while with a portion of Zucchini's famous garlic bread and we tried pasta crisps for the first time. We both said we would pick on the crisps throughout the session. But they wete so delicious we ended up eating them all in about 20 mins..... they were fab! The session itself was easy to follow and Chris signposted what we were doing at every step and then let us relax and make the pasta ourselves once he knew we understood. He was so attentive and kept popping over to make sure we all good. After the made the pasta we had the luxury of sitting a little bit off from the main restaurant. We were served 2-3 plates of our 5 pastas but actually only at 2 plates and we were stuffed! Chris helpfully packed all our pasta away for us and packed it in takeout boxes for us to take home. We both felt so well looked after and welcomed at Zucchinis! I would highly recommend the pasta making class to anyone. So worth the money and knowledge you leave with. Special shout out to Chris who was amazing from start to finish! A true asset to the business!"

"A really unsatisfactory level of service. We sat down for our food and it took the staff 20 minutes to come and greet us and take our drinks orders. We recieved our drinks in a reasonable time, and the waitress took our starter order which...consisted of chicken and sweetcorn soup and hot and sour soup, and also took our main course order. This took a further 30 minutes to arrive. We understood the restaurant was busy and therefore did not say anything and patiently waited and ate our food. The soup was lukewarm at most and was not worth the 30 minute wait. As we placed our starter and main course at the same time and asked explicitly for the main courses to come straight after the soup, we expected the food to arrive shorty after our soup. The food came 55 minutes later. Frustrated and hungry, I politely asked the staff how long our food was going to be. She replied by laughing and saying she will only bring it out when it is made and I should be patient. This amplified the poor customer service, as she did not apologise for the soup being late, and laughed in my face when I asked how long our food would be. The food arrived staggered, meaning we only received each dish at a time. The actual food was hot, but all dishes were very sour for some reason. We ordered the fish chill hot pot which was very fragrant and flavoursome, but apart from that, the rest of the dishes (black bean chicken, cantonese chicken, kung po chicken, kung po prawns) were all extremely sour. Having been here before, this was a real shame and a poor example of customer service. The first time was mediocre at best but we decided to return in order to give it another chance but instead of the food and customer service improving, it has completely plummeted. I would advise all potential customers to perhaps look elsewhere if you are looking for a warm, inviting dining experience, as this was the complete opposite of what we received."

"Went here today for the first time as it was recommended to me but probably will be the last in terms of food! Went for a Sunday roast but they don't do chicken/turkey dinners which was BAFFLING to me (just beef, pork and lamb so I went for the London pizza, which ended up being dry turned out the pizza was a frozen pizza, so not fresh at all. Homemade chips and ‘seasoned’ fries were lovely though!! I got the bbq chicken wings for starters they were really tasty but very fatty. Potato skins and halloumi fries were nice! My mam had the pork roast, she really enjoyed it but found 2 hairs so sadly wasn’t able to finish it. For how much we spent there, and how expensive most of the food was, I would’ve thought the service would have been way better. Most of the staff were lovely, can’t say the same for one of them which I believe was the manager. Not a single smile, made us feel rushed when trying to order, didn’t seem to want to be there and spoke to her staff members quite rude and with constant attitude, shouted at them a few times (deffo brought back bad memories of working in retail seems like she wouldn't give her staff a second to just breathe. I really hope we just got her on a bad day and it isn’t like this all the time, however, by the look of some reviews and speaking to friends/family I don’t think it was a bad day. The location is lovely, just off the river Tyne with some lovely boats! This place would be perfect in the summer for drinks. X"

"We booked a table for a friend's birthday. We arrived on time and had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. We understood that restaurant was busy but the attitude of the bar staff was appalling. They were disinterested and more concerned with table bookings and time slots rather than taking care of their customers in front of their eyes. After 10 minutes of trying to make eye contact and get one of the staffs attention, she looked at me and spoke to me like I was an inconvenience. When I eventually ordered drinks and paid for them it took a further 10 minutes and 2 further enquiries as to where the drinks were . I was then told responded to in a sharp prickly tone. When our table was ready, we got told we could sit. We didn't get shown over. We ordered drinks at the table and the lady who served us spilt a drink all down the back if that birthday girls dress. She was clearly very embarrassed and apologied profusely. However we weren't offered any gesture of good will or anything to demonstrate an apology. Unfortunately the girl with the headphone was stressed and struggling to cope and made no attempt at disguising her frustration and stress. The gentleman at the ba with dread locks was disinterested with poor customer service. There was a young lady with glasses who served and cleaned the tables and she was much better. I observed her reassuring that lady wearing the headphones several times and despite how busy they restaurant was ,she appeared to take it in her stride and get on with the task in hand. In all honesty that way we were treat put us off completely. The food was ok but I wouldn't return based on the chaos and attitude of the staff."

"I have been to this lovely restaurant twice and so my photos were from both of the visits. First time I came was back in 2021 and the second time was last Saturday. Both times we came for dinner so can't comment on their daytime menu. I was visiting my friend in Newcastle for the weekend and she recommended this place for us to try together as she had already been multiple times and had thought the food and overall experience was great. I know they were on the Michelin guide a few years in a roll so I was really looking forward to trying it out. My first time there was absolutely fantastic, great experience all the way from greeting at the reception to sitting down, ordering and paying. Staff members were very friendly and nice, took the time to explain the menu to us. On the first visit, we had the shrimp salad as a starter and then for mains we ordered the lamb chop with cous cous and mussels with a side of potatoes. The salad was refreshing and a great way to stimulate our appetites. The lamb was absolutely fantastic, so savoury and not gamey at all. Second visit we had the brown shrimp salad with blood orange which was once again super refreshing and stimulating. Mains we went with roast pork shoulder and braised is cheeks. The pork shoulder was absolutely delightful, crunchy crackling and tender meat. The apple sauce and potatoes were such a great complement to the meat and really pleasant. The ox cheeks were also soft and tender, particularly enjoyed the beetroot on the side with their dill pesto, so savoury. We enjoyed both but we agreed the pork was the highlight. For dessert we ordered the earl grey poached pear with chocolate and walnut ganache which was lovely. Such an interesting combination of flavours yet they somehow worked. That tea flavour coming through in your month balancing with the rich dark chocolate ganache made it so moreish and easy to eat. Absolutely not too sweet and it's just a light dessert to nicely wrap up our dinner. On both times we thoroughly enjoyed our visits there and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good restaurants in Newcastle. They change menus regularly so you can always get excited for what they will cook on the day. I am already looking forward to coming back one day!"
