"What really stands out about this restaurant is the combination of imagination and simplicity. We went on one evening, on the recommendation of the daughter of one of us, and were so impressed that we came back the following evening. I began with the cauliflower gazpacho, which came with roasted salted almonds. The soup was an absolute surprise, with intense contrasting and extremely fresh flavours, sour, spicy and creamy at the same time. The wine pairing, a Macon Blanc, was equally superb, and in any case is one of my favourite wines. I followed it with the baked aubergine, which combined the delicious softness of slow roasted aubergine with a grilled crust of crushed peanuts, caramelised onions and spices; it came with a rich tomato sauce and some of the most delectable round squashes or zucchinis I have ever tasted. The dessert was a dark red chizo sorbet, with a caramel sauce to offset the whiteness and biscuit. The sorbet was deliciousness itself. I followed it with a Williams pear schnapps, from a producer in the Pfalz (I think) - there was an extraordinary range, including a quince schnapps, if ever I return. The next day I had quail egg in a brioche with caramelized onions; some extremely light parmesan dumplings with spinach and a rather unobtrusive truffle sauce and a beautifully arranged strawberry, white chocolate and blackberry dish on a long thin biscuit, like a plate. The service was good, attentive, and we talked to the chef, who was extremely relaxed - always the mark of a good chef. The restaurant, as everyone knows, is almost impossible to find without directions. One has to go down an alley beween the Westin hotel and the comic opera, round past the dustbins, into a spooky area that looks as if it could come from the Third Man, up some iron steps and then ring a bell. The restaurant, up a long flight of steps, is cosy and full of interesting people..."

Loved every dish, it's super tasty and healthy. My favourite was the Paprika. I will definitely come back!

If you are a vegetarian in Berlin, you will get one of the best meals of your life as well as a quirky, Berlin experience. Service is casual but fast and intelligent. This place is awesome!

We had the 4 course dinner with the wine pairings. Best vegetarian food ever! And our waiter was delightful- made the whole evening a great adventure. Just don't get discouraged when you walk down a dirty alley, past the trash bins, to enter a dilapidated building - the dining experience that awaits you is second to none! Ver carta

This restaurant had been recommended to us by several friends and so we were prepared for the unorthodox and quirky location. It didn't disappoint. The service was amazing and the food was full of flavour. In fact it was out of this world. Yes, it's not cheap, but given the quality, I was happy to pay and it wasn't expensive compared to London prices. I would thoroughly recommend.

To find the place is not easy, it is in a parking lot, behind dirty bins. Then you find a humble sign with the name and ring to get into a cool bar. The restaurant is on the upper floor. 3-4 course tasting menus with wine recommendations. We went for it, but next time I would not. Most of them was rather to surprise and even shock, but not giving a good balance. The dinner experience is fast, we were done in less than 80minutes with the 4 course menu. The staff is pro and helpful.

I wouldn't have thought that its possible to call a meal "spectactular", but was proven wrong by the "parmesan dumplings" and the rest of the entire meal which we had last nightEverything said about this place is true, food and service were first class, the value for money is outstanding and the whole place well worth a visit (or more). So even if this no longer a well kept secret, believe the reviews, book a table, remember to read the instructions how to find the place (because otherwise you won't) and enjoy! We had the 7 course menu and it was really nice. The venue is really difficult to find. Down an alley at the side of the opera house by the bins. Then you go through a dark bar area to the restaurant upstairs. As it is a fine dining establishment I was a little sad to see so many people dressed casually. It’s a dining experience and you should dress accordingly. For the actual food though we had the 7 courses and it was timed very well by the staff to last for 2 1/2 hours We had three cold dishes and 3 warm with a desert at the end. I could have done without two of the cold dishes as they were not as delicious as the other courses. That being said the food is great. It was expensive but that...

When we first arrived at the address, it just looked like a few boutique shops next to each other without a sign of a restaurant. I had to check their website to find out that we indeed had to walk down the alleyway to the left of the shops, turn right, left, and then right again. There is plenty of bike parking in front of the entrance at the end of the alleyway, so you don’t need to park it far away on the street. Although considered a fine dining experience, the atmosphere was relaxed and inclusive, which I appreciated. You can dress up or down as you please. The staff were all very kind and tried to accommodate my partner’s request to finish our 7+1-course meal in under three hours since...
