"Having eaten at Nobu and Matsuhisa restaurants in other locations such as New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas I was very disappointed with our experience at Matsuhisa Munich. As someone who moved from California to Munich we were excited to dine at Matsuhisa believing...we'd have a high quality experience and could expect the same standard of food quality. Not only did it not live up to the standard of a Matsuhisa restaurant it didn't live up to our local sushi joint, much less the standard of a nice dining experience for quality food and service! The food was mediocre at best, with raw fish selections tasting fishy and not fresh. As avid sashimi eaters and at Matsuhisa prices you expect a high quality raw fish product, not for anything to taste fishy. Portions were abnormally small in many cases, even knowing it is a small plates shared concept. Prices do not bother me, but when matched with poor quality of food it's unimaginable. The service was inattentive and lacking with orders missing and our dinner service lasting longer than necessary at 4 hours and long pauses between small shared plates. Matsuhisa Munich is not worth the money, nor is there much of an experience. If you are in the US by all means go, but don't bother with the Munich restaurant!"

I heard a lot about this restaurant that is way me and my friends chose it. The waiter suggested us to order singature food for whole table! Never do that. It is a total joke!!! 6 people and each of us got single bite!!!! Joke,...terrible. Money it's not the issue but when I pay a lot, I at least want to have good memories. Unfortunately not in this restaurant.

I don’t have an issue paying a price for quality and experience…unfortunately, Matsusiha is just “rather expensive” restaurant placed in a beautiful hotel … Service took long (our server came after 25 mins to take our order and wonders we had already ordered) but was...nice. Food wise: California roll and rainbow roll? Just so so in taste and not really nice too look at. The tamago sashimi…ok, with the salmon sashimi being the best of all dishes…the dessert was a joke mochis of 2 Mc in diameter for 5 Euro each…you would expect an explosion of taste in your mouth? Not at all, pretty bland in fact. At least cocktails were ok…definitely no need to repeat. Ver carta

Some plus points are being gained for the fact, that this restaurant is in the Mandarin hotel. So to actually reach it, you have pass by a beautiful lobby of the hotel, with has its own signature atmosphere. so it is already a stimulation for...the next step entering the restaurant. Typical Nobu standards are being maintained here as well, including very specific fusion cuisine. Did not mind the staff, although I did not feel something amazing about them. Food was of course in very high standard, restaurant is however quite small and lacks nice views unfortunately. Did not enjoy it as Monte Carlo Nobu. High price is something you can definitely count on.

Food: the food is uninspired and boring. The quality of fish is acceptable but nothing that would justify their prices. If you like simple makis that you can order also on Uber eats for 10 euros but prefer to pay 50 euros, this is your...place. The drinks were great though Service: the service was all over the place, we did not have a dedicated person but rather all of them somehow where responsible. Which in the end translated into none of them worrying about us. We probably waited 1 hour until we had our first bite. That said, everyone was friendly, i think they are understaffed or mismanaged. Atmosphere: overall it was OK, but some of the crowed Behaved a little rude I guess you cant real...

I am writing the review, as I was asked to do so by the restaurant. My family and I have been four times to Matsuhisa in the last two months and we love the food. That's why we continuously go there. However every time we...go there some detail is wrong. The first time we did not get the the miso soup with the menu. The next visit we learned it's part of the menu. The second time we also ordered the udon noodles, expecting them to be outstanding, as the other food is, but they were ordinary at best. The third time, the food was again outstanding, we could not pay with cards as they were all rejected due to a problem with the machine. Today, the water bottles had a brownish sediment in them.... We having been dining at Matsuhisa on our annual Munich trips since the restaurant opened. It has always been expensive but we always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the setting. This time is was an unmitigated disaster. Few waiters but initially we got good...service and then halfway through our meal it all came to a stop. The Maitre d' came to apologize for the delay in receiving our spinach salad and said it would be on them, that it would arrive shortly. And yet it never came and we were left sitting in front of our empty dishes abandoned whilst the waiters rushed around to help other guests. We got fed up and asked immediately for the bill and when it was presented by I believe the...

Matsuhisa Munich at the Mandarin Oriental. 6/28/2020 Sunday dinner for 4. Cost about 550 euro. Overall dinning experience was 6 over 10. The restaurant was surprisingly busy given its Sunday night. There were many servers and waiting staffs but service was not meeting the Mandarin...Oriental. I had to flag people down for water refill, add food and sake order. Menu was presented on an iPad but order was taken in hand writing in a note pad manually. Strange. Plating and presentation was not meeting MO standard nor Nobu standard. Kind of sloppy as you can see from the pic. Quality of food was ok. There was no wow factor. Fresh? yes but not like standard Nobu level. Only 5 types of Sake to choo...

"Indian restaurants are becoming almost as ubiquitous in Munich as Italian restaurants lately, or so it would seem. So why did I give this one get 5 stars? In part because Yelp doesn't allow for half star ratings and I didn't feel right giving four after my wonderful dinner experience there and the excellent meals my guy has had there before me. Kamasutra is close to his work and we had dinner here after him and work friends raved about this place for lunch. They've only been open for about three months but it's a regular lunch stop for them now. One thing I noticed early on, they do not take shortcuts. Great care is put into food and service. The menu is varied, good selection of wine and cocktails too. Service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The interior is more modern and sleek than most Indian resto's. But what about the FOOD? We were in curry heaven. I had a jumbo shrimp curry and he had a chicken vindaloo. Sauces for both were rich, had complex, nuanced flavors and were not greasy or oily. And when they say spicy, they mean spicy, so for those of you lamenting the lack of proper spice level, make your way here NOW. If you don't want your curry toned down for the German palate, do have some here. Lovely garlic naan, very generous serving of good basmati. Delicious mango cream for dessert and real chai that wasn't syrupy sweet. Kamasutra is a real gem and a welcome addition to Munich."
