"I came with our W.I. Members yesterday for Lunch which had been pre-booked. However as I could not choose anything from the menu supplied, due to being coeliac Gluten Free) I emailed The Boot on the 4th March to ask if they could supply a Gluten Free meal and Dessert. II was sent Allergens Sheets, which I did not need, due to the number of years I have been coeliac, emailed again on the 5th March to which I received reply stating they would see what they could do. Well sadly the meal I ended up yesterday consisted of a piece of Gammon very tough) a pile of salad and some peas. A really unappealing meal. The Boot states that its food is top quality, it even caters for vegans and vegetarians, so Punch who sets the menus, next time you are revising it, please add meals to it for people who have other dietary requirements. This is the first restaurant that I have been to, that could NOT serve a proper Gluten Free Meal, and I have been to many over the whole of the United Kingdom."

Food service was slow despite only us and one other table Main meals were poor quality with burgers being cheap, greasy and tasteless. Waiting on staff were nice and friendly. Bar staff complete opposite

Two families on our way home from camping turned up without booking. We were made instantly welcome and well looked-after. The food was excellent, good quality but not expensive, and the beer was very well kept. Highly recommended

Visited with a group of 10 friends we had pre ordered our food, so we didn't have to wait long to be served. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had a lite bite a tandoori chicken wrap and enjoyed every mouthful. The service was excellent and thy couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be visiting again.

Just been for lunch at The Boot around 2.30pm on a Sunday. Great service given the time of day and how busy it was. Food came out piping hot and was really really tasty. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone. A member of our group had the lasagne and the rest of us had the Sunday. A really fantastic meal with great beers and soft drinks. Thank you!

I would say , typical country pub comfortable seating ,nice atmosphere, friendly staff.sat in restaurant area, with friends for Subday lunch ,food well presented vegetables cooked beautifully, BUT ROAST BEEF was tough, and I would have preferred my meal on a dinner plate rather than on a dish for spaghetti bolognase. Hence my only giving an average vote

a nice pub, with a large ambiente a nice menu. So we wanted to book for a lunch, we made a rehearsal and found the pub as good as usual. So a week later we booked a table for a party of eight, some elements on the menus were not available, but there were other choise’s. but there was only one beer, and it was terrible. so our lunch collection was disapointing, and very little money was spent on alcohol. the food was ok, but in a pub for a pub lunch needs beer! we are gone

"Went for a drive Father's day and ended up having a meal here, we rang and luckily got a table for 7pm. On entry to the Celtic Arms it was a high walled gated area with absolutely beautiful gardens which went on for some considerable area, it is a golf club as well and a beautiful golf course with golf buggies opposite the restaurant. Opposite the golf buggies their is a play area that as I recall was fenced off but attached to the restaurant as its also a bar. On arrival to the resteraunt the manager was extremely warm and welcoming and escorted us to a table just outside of the restaurant. During the time we where in the Celtic Arms I observed the waitress in the restaurant constantly clean and spraying the tables which was absolutely so reassuring since the last covid people have relaxed a bit to much. A young lady who was equally as welcoming came and as us for our order, it was a set three course meal at £23.99 which we felt was really reasonable for such a lovely place. Halfway through our time in the Celtic Arms the young lady went home from her shift that had intially taken our order and I pressume we then passed to another waitress. I felt we where out of the eye of the bar but not in the restaurant so got a little forgotten about, although once we called a member of staff to remove our plates these where remove immediately. The starters where delicious with plenty of prawns on the prawn cocktail and the pate had an amazing homemade chutney. The mains where lamb and beef with the whole meal being cooked to perfection and hot with vegetables cooked just right. A lovely touch we felt was the lady out of the restaurant came and asked us if everything was to our liking and was there anything of the meal we would like a little extra off, I dare say you won't get a ton of potatoes or veg but the gesture was very touching and to be honest the meal size was ample. The desert white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake we shared and both agreed it was delicious, and we then shared a cheeseboard which I had got on the three course set menu. The delicious chutney again appeared with varies cheeses, crackers and grapes. Our compliments where left with the manager and the staff with our thanks for serving and delivering multiple resteraunts can not quite achieve. Well done Celtic arms for your polite, professional manner and serving a delicious good quality meal which was ample portioned, reasonably priced in an excellent environment. Would definitely recommend this place it's beautiful and wins hands down on the last 20 plus places we have been over the last few months. We will most definitely be going back again."
