"I would like to clarify that we didn't actually place an order here. Last Wednesday, a group of 15 of us wanted to order takeout but had difficulty finding an online menu. When we passed by the restaurant around 4:10 PM, we knocked on the door to request a takeaway menu, but the person working in the kitchen at the front ignored us. As a result, we decided to go elsewhere. You missed out on around £300 in business. Could someone please either answer the door or make a takeaway menu accessible from outside? Thank you."

"Busy restaurant and a disappointing start ending up at the worst table in the restaurant beside the hatch where all the dirty dishes are dumped. If booking I would suggest adding a note not to get this table for dinner. 2 steak meals were warm at best and despite being sent back only the plate came back with more heat. One other meal was good and enjoyable. Great server who was helpful and tried to negotiate an adjustment to the bill at the end of the meal which started off with an odd suggestion for a reduction to the overall cost but we got there in the end. No discussion with management, who didn't seem to want to deal with any difficult conversation, but the bill outcome and complimentary round of drinks helped with a disappointing visit. Staff serving tables were great and to be commended for taking on responsibility that would I would have suggested should have been handled by the duty manager."

"I was served by a tall, dark-haired girl who I believe must be the manager; if she isn’t, she certainly should be because her service was exceptional. On the other hand, the guy at the bar, who resembled Ed Sheeran, was quite unfriendly and distant. We would have felt unwelcome if it weren't for the waitress, who worked hard to make us feel at home. She was constantly moving around to ensure all of us were taken care of, seemingly compensating for the lack of effort from the rest of the staff. I was really impressed by her ability to manage the place almost single-handedly. The food was great, but there seemed to be a lack of leadership on the floor. Also, I noticed a red-haired guy actively trying to undermine our waitress, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have given this place a 4-star rating."

"My sister-in-law and I decided to order takeout from a Chinese restaurant, so I drove into town to pick it up. The interior of the restaurant is fabulous—really clean and quite unique. There was a minor issue with the card machine during payment, but the lady who assisted me resolved it quickly and was very apologetic. As a gesture of goodwill, she even gave me some extra prawn crackers. The food was fantastic! I had the sweet and sour scallops, which were incredibly delicious and a unique offering that I've never seen on a menu before—I'll definitely be on the lookout for it again. I also enjoyed the sweet corn soup. My baby niece tried one of my scallops and loved it, and she absolutely devoured the sweet corn soup. We will definitely be returning!"

"Being a first time visitor to the town I nearly didn 't go to Cattle Creel after looking at some of the reviews, but I thought with an excellent average rating I ought to at least try, and I am so gland I did. I like to travel the United Kingdom and as I do I keep a travel diary, here 's last night 's submission: We got back to the hotel a little before 5:00 pm were we had a quick wash and brush up before we headed out for our Friday night supper at Cattle Creel. Jeepers what a fantastic feed we had, and I nearly didn’t go, although they had a 4.5 TripAdvisor rating, a few recent reviews weren’t that good. But I am so glad I gave it a go, as the food, the staff and the atmosphere was brilliant. To start we had some sourdough bread and oil/balsamic vinegar. For the main, as it was tapas Friday we had a fish medley of monkfish cheeks, langoustines and octopus, all of which were lightly battered. We also had a hand dived scallop with slow braised beef and a delicious squash roe puree. Next up we had a fillet steak with a brandy peppercorn sauce and a portion of 36 hours braised ox cheek, with silky mash, red wine jus crispy onions, oh and I ordered a side of chips. What delicious food it was, it was an utter delight, and we were stuffed. I was so stuffed that I declined a dessert and I had an After Eight cocktail instead, it was like velvet on my tongue . Sadly I live 150 miles to the north, in Inverness, or this would be my local restaurant, the dining experience really is that good!"
