"Overall a lovely Birthday meal in a beautiful pub. Service was slower than expected and it was very hot sitting under the glass roof outside area. But saying that the food was lovely, great choice for the children and great to have an outside play area. The dessert table was so good. Loved the whole layout, decor and ambience of the pub. Bar staff were good. Finished off our meal with a drink in the games room. Will definitely be back and would love to stay one day!"

"I am exploring the North Passport and Byfords didn't disappoint. Very nice shop and place to eat with great menu selection. Not many places do Kippers and I was craving for one for a long time, so I went for it. Very good portion and very well cooked. Just a shame I couldn't swap my toast for sourdough even if I had to pay extra. The building inside is beautiful. Make sure to read the information boards or y will enter the building from thee wrong door. Parking can be a challenge if its busy and you don't know the area. I know at least two near by (something like less than £5 for 3h) but just need to drive carefully There is a few outside tables near the main road. If you subscribe for free on Norfolk Passport there is food drinks discount."

"Popped in on the off chance, having not booked and were met with a welcoming smile, as were the doggos. Had a delicious meal and can highly recommend both the sea bass with Bombay potatoes and mango salsa or the Arrancini (mozzarella wrapped in risotto rice) flippin’ gorgeous. Adnams ghost ship was lush and service was with a helpful smile. As and when in Holt, defo worth a visit we’ll be back! Service: 5 Location: 5"

"The menu was quite limited, featuring just four pasta dishes and four pizzas for the main courses. While this alone wouldn't have been an issue, the quality of the dishes we selected left a lot to be desired. My pasta was bland, lacked seasoning, and was overcooked. The portion was small, but I was grateful for that on this occasion. My partner chose one of the four pizzas on the menu—the Sicilian. Unfortunately, the crust was overcooked, and the toppings had an unpleasant taste, making it inedible; she ended up leaving most of it untouched. We had hoped for an authentic Italian dining experience, which shouldn't be difficult with such a limited menu, but we left feeling like we should have chosen a different place. Despite the restaurant having good reviews, based on our experience, we cannot recommend it."

"Upon our arrival in Holt for the first time, we took a chance on a lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised. Despite arriving towards the end of the lunch rush, we were not rushed and appreciated the opportunity to warm up. The cafe had a steady flow of customers ordering coffee, indicating a loyal customer base. The menu offered a variety of British cafe classics and hearty pub-style dishes. My wife enjoyed the cottage pie with peas, chips, and gravy, while I chose the Steak Kidney pudding with mash and gravy. Both meals were generously portioned and tasted homemade. In light of some negative reviews, we felt compelled to share our positive experience. Thank you."
