Away from family friends at this time of year is difficult. However, Victoria has made sure I have been very well looked after in the restaurant. Would definitely return. Thank you

After a bad experience at Heaton park thought I would check out the whitegate wow what a difference freshly cooked food piping hot service by a formidable team Vicky and Rebecca will eat here in future well done to all

Went for a meal tonight at the whitegate the food was absolutely gorgeous, I had the salmon and the others had mix grill, the service was fantastic from vicky, the restaurant was very busy, will definitely be returning soon Ver carta

We had a great night, all of us. Our serves Rebecca and Viki were excellent, always keeping us well fed and happy. Food was enjoyed by all and even though some things were missing from the menu it was a great night. Good value...for money. Staff were lovely and friendly and helped with the surprise birthday cakes and we all had a great time.

Hardly any wait to get served at the bar, we were shown to our table by Rebecca who was almost single handed seating, serving drinks, meals, taking orders and payments . The food was hot and fresh , the drinks fast and cold . We...did wait minutes for our meals but if you want fast food go Maccies would Recommend this Beefeater and a big shout out to Rebecca who was amazing .

We’ve eaten here a few times over the years when visiting family in the area. Previous visits have been “average” but not on this occasion. I had salt pepper squid, very nice, decent portion too. For main I had, The Flame Grill Combo pork ribs, chicken breast glazed with bbq sauce, grilled chicken wings, jumbo posh dog, pulled beef mac cheese, chargrilled seasoned corn, skinny fries and chunky slaw. Big portion! Lots of meat all really nice. Will look forward to our next visit! Ver carta

Decided to try The Whitegate this year for our Christmas dinner out. I have to say it was the worst I have ever had. My yr old Dad and my Daughter also said it was awful. Sprouts were full of water, carrots rock...hard and enough gravy to cover a pea. The starter was Camembert and instead of being able to dip your bread in the cheese a chisel to get it out would have been better. The staff were nice enough and worked hard to get the food out but that was a complete waste of money.. it’s made me make the decision of never eating out again on Christmas Day

We reserved a table for in total we waited minutes before deciding to find a table.no sooner than we seated ourselves, a man appeared quickly to say we couldn't sit there. He offered an insincere apology, which didn't help. After looking around for...an available clean table we were shown to a table in a corner. There was no urgency to take our order. When someone did I was not overly impressed, they haven't got a clue about hospitality. They won't find many diners returning. One of the starters was wrong, main course took quite a long time to arrive. Food was satisfactory, but compared to my local beefeater in Cheshire it was distinctly mediocre. Server didn't take my loyalty card when till...

Ordered food (just main courses) at pm. Eventually came at I’d asked for a side order of vegetable rice but got plain boiled rice! It appears there was a printed list of “unavailable” items, but we weren’t given it, so they just...substituted it! Other tables experienced similar problems. Long wait for food and orders not right. A lady on the next table had asked for a rare fillet steak, which came virtually cremated! A young couple had asked for onion rings which came well after they’d finished their meal and another lady had sweet potato fries that she couldn’t eat as they were rock hard! By the time her meal came back her partner had finished his meal. Waiting staff were doing their best... Ver carta
