"this would have been 5 stars, but my wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch in the restaurant on the top floor today. the waiting staff was excellent: attentive and very pleasant. the food and the wine were very good. we have tipped accordingly. but I had arrived a little early and went down to the stairs to have a drink while waiting for my wife. I ordered a pint of paolozzi. when I was served, the pint was a bit short of the full measure, so I asked the server to complete it. he refused and tried to argue with me. I told him that in 50 years of drinking in Scottish pubs, I had never been rejected when I asked baritarians to say a short measure. then he was hesitant and with bad gnade he overcrowded it. When my wife arrived, I spoke to the server again. he had been chatting behind the bar to a woman that I suspect was a coworker, out of layer. I told him that the division with a customer was never a good idea and that a full measure was at the edge of the glass. he began to argue with me again and say that he would not reduce his bar profits by it. to ask a few ml of beer and a pleasant answer to a very reasonable request, they have lost a bar customer, although I like to use the restaurant above again."

We loved our dinner at La P’tite Folie, served in a large and elegant room which made distancing easy, The starter of goats cheese pannacotta was very light and creamy with a crunch of pistachio, whilst the mains of cauliflower steak with French fries and pork with apple fondant were delicious, especially the little gin-pickled onions that came with the pork. Service was prompt and friendly. A very pleasant evening all round.

stunning eating and I don't say that easy, I was in the trade at a decent level and it was our jubilee so we expected a lot .and got it. the skalopps of my wife were perfectly cooked and seasoned their seabass were exceptional...and then there is the lamb. that must have been a few of the most beautiful lamb I've ever had, and like I'm 61, and has been in trade for 25 years, that says something. the only little moan would be the pure kartoffels, I don't like this consistency, but that's my own taste. the lamb was cooked to perfection, like the asparagus tips. the Bulgarian gentleman in responsibility came over a few times about a chat, which I like, always at reasonable times, so service was...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
