"on a very pleasant sunny afternoon my wife and I just went over Scarborough south bay from holbeck hill and were looking for somewhere to eat. we stayed outside of alfresco and were pleasantly surprised by the varied menu and a series of good food...in the offer. we ordered two Ciabatta sandwiches, fight and a part of the rocky road, which we thought very cheap about £8.80 and went over the road in the peaseholme park. we found a sun bench and enjoyed a beautiful picnic. General fillings, nice well cooked food, it is a long time since we had sandwiches so good. that was Wednesday, 4th november, which began the day before the lockdown. we will live out this memory in the coming weeks and hope that the business will survive. we will certainly be back for more of this beautiful fayre."

"Ordered a birthday cake from here after seeing cakes they make on a daily basis and for events on their Facebook page. After seeing the photos, I was able to customise my own cake for my mums bday. When the cake was made and when I came to pick it up, I was pleased to see that it looked absolutely stunning! The dedication that was made to ensuring it looked absolutely stunning absolutely blown me away! My mums guests were all blown away by how lovely it looked. When it came to slicing and cutting the cake, oh well....that was an experience in itself! It tasted amazing! Guests asked me where I purchased it from so I obviously told them! I will definitely keep buying celebration cakes from here in the future. Ps, their other food tastes divine too! A go to if your a visitor to Scarborough! Thank you team Sabroso!"

"This restaurant is a revelation. There is a separate vegan menu with a good range of choice. I had Spaghetti with Lentil Ragu, which was so, so good. The underlying tomato sauce base was rich and delicious and then to this had been added a generous quantity of brown lentils and other vegetables which had been cooked to perfection. I learned later that Theo Randall works with Ask to develop their dishes so this helps explain the outstanding quality of what I had just eaten. For dessert it was a Chocolate Torte with a scoop of Raspberry Sorbet. Again the quality was outstanding. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. It was a joy to eat there. If Happy Cow allowed it I would give it 5*."

"I was born and live in Scarborough-the home of Boyes store.Nowhere beats Boyes for value and choice.Decided to visit the cafe(first time in years) approx 1 30 in the afternoon.One young woman at the counter serving and taking the money.I ordered a cheese and onion toastie and pot of tea for one.thought it would be quicker as the chip tureen was empty and knew I would have to wait for fresh to be cooked,otherwise I would have had their steak pie etc(which in the Brid dept is brilliant)The toastie took absolutely ages to come and when it did I was appalled! luke warm,and underdone,no crispiness,and must have used half of a whole red onion!bit of salad on the side.Scraped most of the onion out of the sandwich,and ate nearly half--left the rest!How can anyone get a toasted sarnie wrong?Waste of money and left with revolting taste /onion breath rest of day.will never go again!Oh and the brilliant toilets were ruined by the one and only drier being out of order!(no paper towels supplied)"
